can anyone elaborate on what this means please.

guessing, but does it mean you normally have to pay to read what journos have put on line, is that correct.

i only normally click on links to what people have posted, so all new to me, cheers

Tomkins used to publish articles on the LFC website but he then got a large following and left the LFC website and created his own for which there is a charge.

Personally he writes well but most of the time he states the obvious.

He's too biased for me. And to charge for his opinion? Please.

Its not just his opinion though is it, most of it is backed up by hard statistical analysis.

And there are other journos on there, and a mature forum community, that is WUM free, I've been looking at paying for it just for the mature measured conversation that takes place as a result of a subscriber based forum.

Well you go right ahead. I'll be refraining from paying for an opinion. It's free here and there are many good posters if you sift through the crap. The plans for the new site will make that even more so. So unless there's a subscription fee, I'll be waiting for that.

They can be a bit dry and stat heavy for my tastes but more often than not Tomkins articles are usually a good read

However, charging for the 'privilege' . He should rename that site the Tomkins Wallet.

I read rhe free ones on there, but they are becoming few and far between.

I do find him a bit biased. Must admit i have not read anything for a while but when he was posting on the club's site it was a bit too much like MUTV for me!!!!!

On the subject of charging. I suppose the lad is a freelance journalist without a newspaper to pay his bills so he's got to earn money somehow...

Oh yes Fred, I agree, Tomkins has the right to charge, it's his job afterall, however I would never pay for his opinions.

I'm referring to the new site the Admins here are working on. Apparently it's going to be less Brendan's 4-3-3 and more great articles to be debated on, whilst being moderated to keep out the idiots. With various stories and transfers gossip etc.

Great idea in my opinion.

I've always hoped they'd do something like that.

Create a website for articles on the back of this one - cherry picking the best articles written on here and publishing them on a new website.

I don't think that's their main idea, however I do believe there should be an element of that.

id love to as used to write and really miss it but just dont have the time... work family etc...

Tomkins is back on the LFC site this season, does an article about once a month.

I like him generally. The stat heavy ones can get a bit dull but he is an intelligent guy. He is a little biased, but he is a massive red, so is bound to be a little bit.

I wouldn't pay for his stuff personally, but I don't pay for any newspapers or online journo's. I have the Guardian app on my phone which is about £8 a year so is virtually free anyway.

I will happily write for the new site if they need/want writers.

Drop the admin an email. Sort of an application. Tell them what you've done in the past and what you can bring to it.
