Disappointed and Knackered

Poor. You badly needed a striker with Jelavic not performing and a central midfielder where you squad is light with the likes of Gibson not good enough.

I'd be livid knowing there was over eight million to spend but it wasn't spent in a time which could make or break your season.

'the likes of Gibson not good enough'

Time to put that one to bed mate. He's been one of the players central to our good run of form.

You saying otherwise doesn't change that.

How is that true when he's barely played since he joined, being injured a lot of the time?

I'm not getting into this with you. It's clear you're looking for a rise, which you won't get from me.

If I was you, I'd me more worried about your midfield and defence, which was woeful against Arsenal.

I'm not looking for a rise at all. I'm genuinely interested in why you think Gibson, who's injured most of the time is central to your good run of form?

Of course Gibson has been central to our improvement. He brings a good balance to the midfield. His range of passing is great, unlike Allen who plays like he's a table footballer and only moves side to side not unlike a crab.

He is clearly a good communicator and someone who is a calming presence. Some might say the complete opposite of Lucas.

Of course he has had injuries. I would have thought your eagle eye would have noticed his performances as all you RS seem to be more interested in us than your sorry lot.

I suppose it's the craning of your neck looking up the league table that is causing your momentarily lapse of judgement in this quite frankly tawdry point of view.

I don't get the hostility. As I said before, I'm genuinely interested in why you think Gibson is central to your good run of form when he's injured most of the time.

His combination of ball winning, and the ability to quickly pick a pass and keep play moving is above any other player we have that plays in CM. He rarely takes more than 2-3 touches when in possession.

He's played 21 games in 12 months including the summer break, of which we've lost 1 when he's played. You work out why he's rated highly by us. Gerrard has averaged the same number of games per season the last 3 years and is yet still highly rated. Just because he doesn't play every game doesn't mean he isn't improving our team when he does play.

And I too am really disappointed, why wait until a few days before the deadline to try and get Fer in? ANd surely they could have asked for his medical records first before bringing the boy over from Holland?

I think he's got a good long pass but is very slow on the ball. I feel you overrate him due to him not playing enough. I feel if he weren't so injury prone you'd see him every week and realise he's just not that good.

I think you may have dodged a bullet there however. It's a lot of money to spend on a player with so much baggage.

I would have thought Diame would have been a good buy for you, with his £3.5m release clause.

However you were in need of a striker in my opinion with Jelavic's form worrying.

Form is temporary etc.

TOOR, it's funny that you know more about our players that the people who watch them every week.

We've told you why we think you are wrong, yet you still just keep saying the same thing. you may as well be saying 'I know you are, but what am I?' over and over.

Glasshouses Toor, glasshouses. That's the the thing with Toor and his fellow RS supporters. They defend Suarez for his diving, or if he goes down easily, but then go on the Spurs board and mock Bale for doing a similar thing. Why are you so interested in Gibson Toor?

posted on 1/2/13

Boor I will thing if you read back this thread wasn't about Gibson until you brought him up AGAIN. As far as use coping with injuries we have done ok without gibbo and Kevin, also we coped when the big fella got banned for 3 games transmit forgetting hibbert and Coleman hAve had injuries we are still 5th

I don't defend Suarez when he dives. I defend him when he doesn't and people say he did.

When he dives, like against Stoke, then it's cringeworthy. When he pretends he's been shot after a straightforward foul, it's cringeworthy. The same goes for Bale, for Phil Neville, anybody. Diving needs to stop.

I'm not interested in Gibson, I said you needed a better player to replace him, it looks like Moyes tried but it wasn't to be. You all jumped on this.

Boor

That's a new one, an improvement on TOOL.

I only brought him up in relation to the attempted replacement of him in the transfer window, which is what the article is about, you all jumped on that.

To cannibalise a well known saying:

'The opinions of the many outweigh the opinions of the few.'

Like I have said before, just because you keep saying it, doesn't make it right.

And the signing was to compliment him, not replace him.

We would have stared with 2 DMs with Felli part of an attacking 3 supporting a CF.

Simples.

It seems like you were trying to get another striker in, Negredo a possibility. None of Jelavic or Negredo would have sat on the bench. So that means both would have played. Moyes' options were then to either have four in midfield or play three at the back with five in midfield, which seems unlikely. You can't rely on a player who is always injured, Moyes recognised this and tried to briong another in, only to worry if he was going to face the same problem, thus cancelling the deal.
