United-Barcelona springs to mind, I mean United couldn't have actually been that bad, could they?

................

Yes. We could.

Since the tweet didnt mention the time frame and Besiktas were being investigated a while ago that's the only one that came to mind....
===========================
You've just jumped on the tweet without verifying because it could have a negative spin on LFC. If it might have had a positive spin am sure you would have confirmed your facts first before posting.

Only if you let us keep Rogers Revolution. He is funny as well.

How very dare you. I'm not allowed on the United board. I insulted somebody by calling him an idiot and was banned after a complaint. Now I wonder who else does that kind of thing.

Not a chance that TOOR is a right tool.

It was Arsenal in a few games. They paid the other teams to lose but they couldn't even win against a side that wasn't trying

The 8-0 wouldn't surprise me - but I would be surprised if we were in on it... The bet would probably be on Liverpool to win by 5 or more. Besiktas players bunged to make it easy, but we have no knowledge of the fix & score 8 because we can - not because someone is saying "tonight, you should try a bit harder. Score more than 5 & I'll give you £Xk" - not kind of how match fixing works, it usually to throw the match. Its rare that the winning team had prior knowledge. I say it wouldn't surprise me just because of the controversy at the time - i.e. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/dec/05/newsstory.sport7 - but it would have surely come out before now (barring paranoid conspiracy theories of corruption from top to bottom)

I don't think its that game though. How hard do you think that would be to pull off? Would it not be more likely to have red/yellow card betting? I mean just think how much easier it is to get a player sent off/booked than it is to determine the outcome of a match - particularly when we aren't just talking about 1 game but many across Europe...

-------------------------------
It would surprise me considering they said it was "three or four years ago" and that game was six years ago.

Ah, I didn't spot the time frames. And it was definitely in England - not Britain? Rhyl 0 Partizan 12 would be my next bet
