Whilst I'm in agreement with giving the South Stand to home fans, it could be a mistake to have the Away supporters elevated out of sight from the new Kop: is it beyond GSE to have them sandwiched in the SE corner between two vocal groups rather than above the voices and adjacent to the more reserved West Uppers?
Moving Away Fans to the South East Corner will involve cost, ie putting in some kind of barrier in the concourse.
The South West Upper can be accessed by a couple of turnstiles and is already blocked off from other concourses. The only cost in the South West corner will be putting out the netting and a couple of stewards relocated to watch doors.
If it was up to me, I'd have them in the SE corner, but there's a couple of things in the way, the cells are underneath the south stand, I'm sure the police would moan!! I think we are all in agreement that something needs to be done.
Has anyone noticed that recent small followings have been put in the bottom tier of the South stand?
I don't think the lack of atmosphere is down to the location of Away Fans anyway. You could shift them around the whole stadium and the same problem will exist.
I have to disagree, if you have a smaller segregation, and the fans nearer, then I would think that would be better. At the minute away fans are in no mans land.

I may be wrong but I thought that away fans were put on the lower tier for televised matches, so that on the TV you don't get these yawning chasms of empty seats and the away end looks fuller???

Do you think that our Fans are going to behave differently then, based on the location of the away fans?
If I was sitting at the match in the south east corner when we were playing someone like Barnsley who bring 400 fans, there are swathes of empty seats, and I think a lot would think, 'Nah can't be bothered to sing' whereas if they were a few seats away, I think there would be more banter with the fans and more singing.
Haven't we been here before though? I can remember when we had Derby Fans in the South Stand and Away Fans pushed round towards the SE Corner and the atmosphere was still flat Mate! I think this would have been early 2000's but it was the same then.
I honestly think its Derby Fans mentality that needs to change at home matches.
I've just moved to the SE corner. Looks like I'm on the move again. Feel like a Gyppo.
