Would be interesting to see how Starc performs in India. India albeit in limited overs had a lot of trouble against Junaid and Irfan and Starc is a better bowler than the two.
I can't see Siddle, Johnson and Lyon doing much in India. What's happened to Darren Patterson or is it Pattinson?
I think hes injured?.. I'd be interested to see how India bowlers preform.. Australian batting is pretty weak, But saying that Watson an Hughes may play well on flat slow turners. I can see Inda producing turning tracks..The problem will be the turn will be so slow..and anyone can negate that. It'll be a very turgid affair.
Englandwhoelse - You are really selling this series to me
Rabbitohs...southsydney,
Well said mate. Posters from certain country hate India so much, it takes the fun out of visiting JA606. At times I question is it cultural?
Any ways I'm looking forward to Ashes, I do think/hope Aussies will do well in England. The Clarke guy is special, I expect him to come up with a trick or two. For Aussies it is their bowling and a very smart skipper w'd be their strength. English have so many things going for them. Can't wait, bring it on.
Clarke wont get more than 300 runs in the entire series.
That's a pretty brave prediction e...whoelse.
I'd expect 1 century, which means he would need to have some very low scores to stay with-in your calculations..ave. 21........
To be fair I criticise whoever I want to criticise, but don't go over the line. People can criticise, and banter will prevail come the Ashes when England win 5-0 then 3-1 away.
Anyway, great to see Shane Watson back with a 100 v WI's yesterday. I didn't get to see the game and hope to catch the highlights later.
Maybe Australia should drop this Aaron Finch, only picked because of his performances in Big Bash T20. Looks clueless, and will only look good when he attacks and he can hardly do that on the International stage. Bring back David Hussey, wrongly dropped and made a scapegoat for the series defeat v SL.
AdotVilla....your weather forecasting leaves me a little confused....5-0 in Eng and 3-1 in OZ....
As for yesterdays 50/50 OZ Vs Windies.....there were a couple of spectacular catches taken by the Windies, one in particular of which I would say is one of the best I have ever seen......try not to miss it....
rabbitohs,good article
let's hope it's a good series mate and it ends with you drowning your sorrows in your local listening to all your p0mmie mates singing to you
And, I see Australia are looking to persue the Shahid Afridi of Australia, Glenn Maxwell into Test cricket. Better than that leggie Smith anyway... But I would love to see Maxwell play in the Indian Tests, if he can improve his spin...He doesn't have the technique, but I just love watching him play.
hounslow......I can hear it now....."Walk-on.....Walk-on" 3 of them are bloody scouse git's......either way there will be plenty of beer for everyone, with the bets being wagered...we have had to keep a record of all the different bets...ranging from a couple of schooners per test to a ctn or 2 per series and then retaining or winning the ashes re; in England and then in OZ....all we will need to do, is pitch in a couple of bob to purchase the sausages/onions and listen to the banter one way or another.
Just yesterday I was trying to get a side bet on with my Blackburn mate........he said he hasn't decided yet which team he is going for ???? (he is an Australian citizen now because of his employment) but I have to translate for him he is that bloody broad of an accent... Aussie my arise.. I call him a Pozzie..
I don't think Clarke will get an 100.. But we will see..
Am not trying to be over confident.. Australia can win. of course..England are back on the rise again after a year of poor preformances. The win in India shows our batting is getting back to scoring large again.
And with 5 tests against Zoo Nealand coming up, there should be plenty of runs & wickets for our boys, great preparation for the aussies.
