AN Australian Crime Commission investigation report has sent shockwaves through Australian sport. Here's the key points and statements that have shocked a nation:
"The findings are shocking and will disgust Australian sports fans. It's cheating but it's worse than that. It's cheating with the help of criminals.''
- Justice Minister Jason Clare
"Multiple athletes from a number of clubs in major Australian sporting codes are suspected of currently using or having previously used peptides, potentially constituting anti-doping rule violations. Official from clubs have also been identified as administering, via injections and intravenous drips, a variety of substances."
- Jason Clare
"...The evidence to date is not the majority but we’re talking multiple athletes across a number of codes. In some cases players are being administered with drugs that have not yet been approved for human use.”
- Jason Clare
"Some sports scientists and doctors are experimenting on professional sportspersons in an effort to determine if particular substances can improve performance without being detected."
- ACC report
"The ACC has found that professional sport in Australia is highly vulnerable to infiltration by organised crime ... Links between organised crime and players exposes players to the risk of being co-opted for match-fixing, and this investigation has identified one possible example of (match-fixing).
- Jason Clare
"Today is about the integrity of sport in Australia ... If you want to dope and cheat, we will catch you. If you want to fix a match, we will catch you. And as you can see by the investigations that have taken place, that we are well on the way to seeking out and hunting down those who will dope and cheat."
- Federal Sports Minister Kate Lundy
Since as far back as I remember, drugs cheats have always strived to stay one step ahead of the authorities. This 'war on doping' is pretty naive.

Rabbitohs, if souths had been doping they would have won something not a problem, the storm might be worried
There is one sport in Australia that in my opinion has a shambolic drugs testing system, and its not Rugby League.
Expect tough drug testing at this years world cup, and tough if the countries and players don't like it. We in Rugby League needs to make sure as much as possible that our game is drug free.
one thing about rugby league in the uk is that other sports sit up and take notice how hard they deal with drug cheats although the sport gave dwyane chambers a chance even though he was pants at least castleford did not really the sport just a little club
Still nothing as far as names and clubs involved.....plenty of speculaion and the sooner they name & shame these players the better....this great game of ours is getting dragged down into the gutter with inuendos.....none of the drug counciling either, they knew what they were doing....kick the ba----ds out of our game....
Australia joins Spain and Italy atop the mountain which sits the pantheon of doping greats.
Going by reports, and that's all we can go by because ASADA are not releasing much. Certainly no names as yet, because the interviewing process has still got 4-6 weeks left.
Reports are that there could be as many as 31 players in the mix....past and present.
I feel for the Cronulla supporters.
The Sharks have built a good strong team over the last 2-3 years and have given the supporters a real glimmer of hope for 'there first ever premiership.
More importantly though, is to clean up our great game of rugby league and show these dumb individuals that they can't take any substances in order to get fit or respond to treatment quicker then the normal manner.
Unfortunately there are some individuals out there with even less brains then those sort by ASADA who wish to believe every sportsman with-in OZ are on the take....yeah!! sure tuggers, move on..
I repeat that there is another sport in Australia that will not be able to sweep the drug scandel under the carpet like they have a lot of things in the past.
Are you talking about the AFL.... B.F
