I think it was Marther who put them off last time.
Was Martha still there when we took McLeish? I can't remember. So many ins and out recently that I can't remember the order.
Billy was quite clearly the 'fans choice'.
Considering the balls ups just lately by Fawaz, it was a very wise move to listen to the fans.
Now Still....lets stop the Billy hating...and get behind him & the team. Lets hope Fawaz does the same, and gives Billy time to build a team that will challenge for promotion.
I've said good luck and hope I'm wrong. Can't do much more than that.
hooijdonk - I applaud your caution. I'm genuinely interested to see whether this 'populist' choice- clearly ONLY a damage limitation appointment to appease the fans from the Hasawis- actually works out. On paper, I can't see how it can, but hey, football is STILL a funny old game!
Some people are never happy. The owners don't listen to the fans and bring in AMC (though I was massively against it)... Then they listen to the (majority) fans and bring back BIlly... and still questions are asked.

They wanted a manager with Prem experience. I suppose they have one though
DeLaRed - not all the fans were clamouring to bring him back. ertainly not a majority.
However, I'm sure the majority will now get behind him and the team. I know I will.
