I completely agree with wanting to see that midfield.
In fact its one of the few things which actual has me excited where Wanderers are concerned at the minute.
Black and white, black was a manger playing 3 wingers and no attacking/creative midfield. Black was, after watching a dire performance a manager subs two willing players whilst leaving on the inept Eagles. White was the crowd finally getting behind the team, white was that same crowds response when Eagles finally got the boot, and brilliant white was the score.
Dougie has a choice. Continue will his obsession with Eagles and he will loose the crowd; however pick a side with real passion and real players and perhaps, just perhaps we have hit the bottom and begun the long haul back.
Agree TRR. We also lack leadership through the squad. SKD is a model pro and leads by example, but hes not a regular starter and when he does he isnt the type to dictate play or give a bo11ocking. His position as a striker doesnt, in my opinion, lend itself to being the best captain as he doesnt see everything.
For me we need that player in the middle of the park who can control the game, issue instruction and let players know how he feels. This has always been Nolans best quality. He might not be the most technically gifted but he is a good captain and on his day he can take the game by the scruff of the neck and dictate what happens. The best example of this was against Plovdiv where he refused to put the ball out when thir player rolled around on the floor and we scored.
Hopefully when Holden comes back he can fill that role and we will also have another leader in Wheater back soon as well

Im starting to think eagles ran over your dog, of all parts of the team I think your the only one who thinks he's the weakest link
Eagles needs a break from the team. He is inconsistent yet very talented. Add those two together and you have Eagles. A player who on his day is of Premier League standard but those days are not regular enough. This is why he has and will always spend most of his first team career in this league. I hope mavies returning gives DF the opportunity to rest him. The Eagles of Sept, Oct and November is an asset to any team in this league.
Notlobing - it wus mi hamster!
Seriously though Eagles is a very talented individual.
Football is however a team game, and on the slippery slope we've found ourselves the last thing we need is a prema ballerina with no team ethic. You heard the crowd on Saturday when he got hauled off; enough said.
