Nice one for unearthing this Dill. I quite like a good back story to an appointment. Crazy that he is the only Australian with an UEFA A licence! That's nuts

Still waiting for the looklike report on why the scouting network appears to be non-existent. That should clarify things a bit (more) .

We do have a shocking scouting network

Raptor :

And a new terminus at Liege for players who cannot afford "direct flights" to WHL.

Yes Rap the link with Ajax is the best bit for me too. If you look at the list of players they've brought through it's insane

Glad we've finally made some moves scouting wise, only recently with our U21's we're now seeing a change in the players coming through

Perhaps we'll sign Eriksen? Though it's difficult to see where he'd fit in, considering Dempsey, Sigurdsson and Holtby all play in the same position.

"Perhaps we'll sign Eriksen?"

A lot of serious interest in that boy in particular.

IMHO the link to Ajax, and of course words of endorsement from Verty etc about Spurs, will no doubt see some interesting acquisitions from them in future years.

@rdbd

This was why I could not say anything. It still has not officially been announced by spurs but he started work a few weeks ago.

I expect one more big appointment and a few smaller ones to help with the scouting network.

We already had a partnership with Ajax before this appointment due to other personnel.

Notice the sherwood part....he is our technical director as I have said all along. Everyone reports to him including avb.

Ever wonder why sherwood was sitting in the stands why Harry was in charge?

I wasn't expecting info like that.
More of a post-mortem as to why the scouting network seemed be non-existent in recent months.

To the point of Spur (officially ?? ) scouting at Reading this week.

Yeah would be interested to know myself why we don't have a scout network. Look at what Graham Carr has done for Newcastle. A club like Spurs who don't pay as much as others should be naturally doing this. Weird why we haven't. Something to do with Harry? He took us out of the prem reserve league. Does Redknapp use his own scouts?

@badish

Sort of to do with Harry mate both Peter senior and Ian Broomfield were "relieved of their duties" shortly after Harry. Broomfield was technically our chief scout you can now find him at qpr with the title of "head of recruitment, scouting and some other words I cannot remember"

Broomfield the one who did not rate Suarez.

@rdbd

I will explain another time possibly tonight because it really does involve serious detail intertwining both a scouting network,coaches, technical directors, advisors, faces from the past (Commoli and pleat ). Confused? You certainly will be

Interesting you say about spurcat I didn't think he was on here anymore sadly? Very knowledgeable man. I think he had a big hand in Lawrence vigaroux our promising Chilean keeper.

Sounds like a <standard> Spurs setup before now then.

He is on the "other" side.
And is a more reliable source in 606 land for fixture/KO times for home kids games land (which is why I know now there is a U21 game against Man Utd tomorrow) .
