Very happy, Town to finish....... 15th. Robins not spoke n yet, press conference later.
I think this is our most exciting appointment in a long time. He is a young manager who has shown promise and it would be great to be the team he really thrives with. Its so unusual to have a manager who isnt coming to us being slated by previous clubs fans for the performance!
I am interested in his style of play and how he will change us. I think if we are this buzzed the players will too as they will know they have a good new manager.
I am almost glad its him and not Adkins in a way as he would have brought extra expectations and thats never a good thing. Plus I get the feeling he would have felt we were beneath him and its more of a redemption job than anything else. I have no doubt he will be a PL manager next season though.
Yeah, chuffed at this. Hasn't got long left to work his magic but has a good cv when it comes to working with what he's got.
I think we'll finish between 16-18th
As long as we finish out of the bottom 3 and above Barnsley I don't care. If he achieves that then great, then we'll see what he brings to the club for next season.
Might just make a playoff placing! Good on ya Mark!
Have you got fifa 13 yet lv? Wouldn't mind but you saw 2013 in before most people!
Back to the subject, it's made me feel a lot more positive than a few weeks ago
Signed on a rolling contract is good business sense from DH.
What's the rolling contract all about what the advantage of this ? Robins has already walked out on 3 clubs so is this rolling thing going to tempt him to do it a gain is it goin to make it easy for him to just walk again ? I don't get a rolling contract they seems to be no trust in one .
I think more managers are on these deals, I think Karl Robinson at MK is. The benefit is if we get rid then we dont have to pay as much. Given how often managers get sacked it makes a whole lot of sense. Success means it just rolls on so it is an incentive for the manager to succeed but equally it is easier for managers to leave for less money but you cant have it both ways
I've no complaints if he walks out Loui?
We all swap jobs, so why are football managers any differet
Elsie and his crew were put on rolling contracts, not sure about Grayson and his mob.
It provides 'flexibility' for both sides, but in reality if Deano delivers what he told Robins he will do, then there should be no need to worry.
Expect 2 years or so from Robins, 3 at the most unless we get to be a top 4 Championship side pushing for the Prem, then he might stay longer. Deano will need to find some spondulies for him though...otherwise Robins will do another runner...
Be a bit of a downer if we get mullered by Wigan then again by Forest and Ipswich...everyone will be saying what a carp choice he was
If we finish the season around 60 points I think that would be a good result.
Now we have a manager in place we need another foarward on loan! Beckford is a crock and we wont see him much, Novak is out, Vaughan is always on the edge so that just leaves big Al. Someone else to take the burden off Vaughan should help a lot.
I would also like to see Hammill back. Seeing how Scans is doing well in this new formation he would give the option aswell meaning more varied attack and strength in depth. It doesnt look like Wolves want him and he can come here and try to earn a contract for next season
Hess said he dosent want any loan players as he's happy with what he's got . You see that's what I have been saying all along dean wanted somone who won't ask for money .
yes to hammill..share the role with scannell.. either coming on late in a game may well be the difference..they both run with the ball, we have few who do that..
cant think of a forward who we could get at the moment..im sure lillis/robins will have some ideas but we desperately need one..
What part didn't you understand !!!!' He's said he not bringing any loan players in as he is "happy with the talent we have ".
He says we've got some very talented players here already so we don't need to get loans in . Mmm he knows the players better than us and he's only been here 10 minutes .
He also said he was happy at Coventry last week....now look at who he's managing this week
Loui he is basically not wanting to annoy the players he doesnt know yet. He will have a good look at the squad and I bet within a week or two he will mention "looking to strengthen in one or two areas if the right player is available". They all say this stuff, its just the PR training they have
its not an option..beckford out, ward out, novak out..
i suggest there will be at least one loanee, reasonably shortly..
hammill can cover wide/forward...seems a no brainer..
