Do people think Pistorious really did mistake his girlfriend as an intruder? Apparently he is a big gun enthusiast and had many automatic weapons in his house. He also apparently suffers from anger issues and violent mood swings.

So did he shoot her for fear of being burgled senseless? Or did she upset him and he shot her twice from close range in a fit of anger?

It's a big thing. Don't understand why people are playing it down.

Being gay in 2013 is not as "big news" as it was 30 years ago.

But coming out as a gay footballer in 2013 is huge.

Anyone who says it isn't has it wrong.

Well done robbie.

Why does anyone care if he's gay? This is more of a gossip than football news.

Media and people make big stuff out of these situations.

Football needs to get past the antagonism of homosexuals involved in the game. The best way too do this is too have figurehead that people look up too. Rogers may well not have been successful here but he is well known in usa and will help us breach this barrier there.

Yeah they make a big deal out of it but the media do that with everything. There must be loads of gay footballers but none are open about it. Football is behind the times on this issue, at some point they will need to deal with it.

no i think he murdered her after a domestic, you dont accidently shoot someone 4 times through a bathroom door, and when you hear something in the house, youre first instinct isnt to shoot at them without even checking who it is, especially if the person you live with isnt at home

"Depends. There are a lot of good people on here. Equally as many morons though."

I don't understand that. People who don't agree with homosexuality are automatically "morons". While the people who accept it are "good people"?

I respect your opinion. But you have to respect other people's take on it too.
Stop being so political correct.

It's ok to insult God and people's religion nowadays. But if you say one negative thing about gay people, these very same people get offended. Twisted world.

If Ronaldo or Messi came out gay (they're not) then every gay player will come out. Ashley Cole is probably gay cos no one cheats on Cheryl.

And your point is?

religion is real 8bit, its just the stroy behind it that isnt

I respect that there are those that disagree with homosexuality (the majority of whom, as a result of their religion). I have no gripe with that, people have every right to their opinion on the matter. Just like I respect a person's right to be religious (it can do a lot of good for people to have a faith, for sure), as long as it doesn't infringe on anyone else in a negative way.

But I won't respect people who disregard a person's right to be gay. And those who treat them as second class citizens. Homophobes are ignorant morons of the highest order, along with racists, sexists, etc.

What I don't understand is how people can be against some forms of discrimination, but for others. Discrimination is discrimination, it's not a bloody pic'n'mix.

It shows to a wider audience though in football that homosexuals can be there and survive, it also shows the sad truth that a footballer is too afraid to play with 'the shadow' of homosexuality over their head. We need to think how that reflects on us, the fans

"homosexuality is also real"

That's your opinion. I don't think it's real. I think it's a mental issue. Something those guys have convinced themselves of.

posted on 15/2/13

well something that causes wars and the deaths of millions deserves to be insulted and ridiculed, someones sexuality cant be helped and doesnt deserve to be insulted and ridiculed

posted on 15/2/13

Since we're on this topic who here is gay?
