Consistency and quality vs the big sides seem to be the your only stumbling block.
If reports about replacing (with real quality) the likes of Downing, Henderson and Reina are true, I think you'll be a shoe in for top 5/6 next season and challenging for top 4.
Coutinho could be a good buy for you lot.

We shouldn't even think about replacing Henderson. He's a top player and is getting better and better, why in the world would we replace him?
He's has a decent 6 weeks, he could become a good squad player. He will never be a 'top player', in my opinion.

Well considering Henderson will "never become a top player" I can't see anybody bidding around the £16m we paid, so I doubt he'll be sold, especially when playing well and getting better all the time.
