Think you'll stay up and I can't see United being interested with about 6 strikers on the books already

Liverpool should be in for him if we sell Carroll. We need to big man option.

Naa we're good.
Ask the arsenal fans. Change the article teams included cos you'd get more people with different opinions whereas most stand with no

No I thought no to United.

Just hope we don't get adebayor in Part-Ex

we'll take him

(if our owner can finally swallow his pride and see Torres as the waste of space everyone else can patently see )

could you hold Benteke in reserve for us

Can't see him at either Manchester club. I reckon Spurs are most likely, they only have 2 forwards and 1 of those can't be ar$ed to play.

I'd take him.

Unlike Carroll, Benteke has pace and touch too. Great find by Lambert.

Chelsea or Man City.

Chelsea - He is the new Drogba, in many ways, so with Torres surely surplus, if they get Lukaku back that will give them Ba, Lukaku and Benteke, a formidable set of options for the lone front man role they employ.

Man City - Tevez will be leaving, Balotelli already gone. They need a striker, and he could give them a new dimension.

Arsenal can't (or wont) afford him, Liverpool probably the same, Everton definitely can't. Man Utd don't need him.

Forgot Spurs, not sure they can afford him either unless Bale goes.

They don't spend £20m on players and I suspect that is what you would demand.

If he learns to stay onside then i'd take him.

That is true

But for a player who does go offside frequently he scores plenty too

If we stay up he will only be affordable to Chelsea or City, I can see him in Spain though. He already has that Spanish celebration nailed down!

Suarez, Sturridge, Benteke would be an ideal set of forwards for Liverpool. Add two quality wide men, a left back and two center backs this summer and we would get fourth.

I don't think we should be going gung-ho signing players when we have such promising youngsters coming through. It would just stunt their development.

Certainly we should replace Downing, he just doesn't fit the system. We could also bring one central defender in with Carragher retiring. I feel left-back is fine. Enrique is up there with the best in the league in his position and we have Johnson for cover, with Kelly able to come in at right back and of course young Robinson who looks like he could develop into a great player.

I feel Benteke would be a great signing. I also would like a tougher midfielder who can come in against teams who throw us about all game.

even if we do stay up i can see him leaving if not next summer the summer after.. we are a selling club afterall, which makes me feel sick typing it... but at least there'll be a decent profit made on him

posted on 17/2/13

I would of course like to see him at LFC but we also need a new CM and I personally think Witsel is the way forward because of his aggression and spirit.I also believe we need a new CB to replace Jamie when he's gone

posted on 17/2/13

Witsel would be a great signing but he'd cost an absolute fortune.

posted on 18/2/13

No way in hell could we afford Witsel. Him and Hulk cost €100m so no way could we afford that.

I'd like Kwadwoh Asamoah, Christian Benteke, a first team centre back and a young up and coming centre back.

Get it sorted please!

A strong midfielder will be tough to find with our budget. Romulo from Spartak Moscow might be a good bet. In center back I'd like Williams for some experience and I'd like Papadopoulos from Schalke, he'd be a great replacement for Carra I reckon.
-----------------------------
Do we have a budget? I thought the owners had always made it clear that we don't have a budget. We identify what players we want and then sign them.

I haven't seen nor even heard of Romulo so I can't comment on him but Williams is certainly not the defender we need in my opinion. He just isn't good enough and with his words on Suarez wouldn't be the right player to bring in. At his age also he wouldn't be happy sitting on the bench. The Papadoupolos looks a very good player but is prone to a few errors. He'd be a good signing in my opinion. Schalke rejected a £12m bid from Milan and accepted a £16m bid from a Russian team, Anzhi maybe? Maybe £16m for a sub isn't the right way to go.

I think don't think Skrtel has went off form, more Agger went off form. I feel Carragher was brought in as Brendan was worried about the 'voice' in the team.

Bottom line is we shouldn't let Benteke go for less than 20 million. Man Utd don't need him. Spurs may be in with a shout but Arsenal with Wenger in charge will never pay the asking price. Only Chelsea and City can really get him and they should both get fleeced royally by us. 30 million for the next Drogba.
