A true product of a training acadamy has to have been conceived in the gym.

I love City fans trying to justify their spending.

I have no issue admitting City are a force and a top 4 team now.

What I wont admit is that they are a big team.

Without the investment the Sheikhs have put in they would be in the bottom half of the table.

Real talk.

groovy,

You've been extremely quiet - haven't seen you on the Spurs board all day.

Off topic, I watched the City Leeds game in the pub and did I see the Leeds fans holding shoes in the air to mock the muslim religion or did I imagine that? There was no sound on and I was chatting at the time too.

And without the floatation money, there would still exist a possibility of another backheel.

Who does Ronnie Irani support, Melton?

Nothing so profund Macca, it was part of a chant called "Take your shoes off if you hate Man U."

RVP

He supports United. Season ticket holder

wouldn't surprise me, most of their fans are in.breds and are depressed their new owners are the complete opposite of Sheikh Mansour. Flat broke

Ok bud

Someone in the pub said it was a muslim thing. I wasn't convinced

Ah cheers Macca, I don't really listen to the football radio shows. Is he a bit of a numpty?

"DIdn't Utd do the same? The team/squad that won the league in the early 90s was the most expensively assembled squad in English football history at the time.

The amounts of money is now a lot of higher, but Utd did then, what City are doing now.

------------------------------------------------

Is this fact though? Have each teams costs from back then been totalled up and compared or is this something you've just said?"

To be fair, that is true. Since 1990, the average difference between the final table and money spent is 2 places. Before then, the average was higher.

There's a book called "Pay as you Play" which is fantastic when it comes to that aspect of it.

To balance it up though, only one manager has won three titles despite not having one of the two most expensive sides in that particular season and that is Ferguson.

Here's a question for you then. From mid nineties to the mid noughties, who do you reckon the the biggest underachievers in terms of squad assembly cost against final position were?

He's a United fan RVP, which made it all the more ridiculous. I don't think he is a particularly good one though!

Mark Chapman is the only decent United supporter I like listening to in the media these days

Spurs? Newcastle? They seemed to have had quite a lot of mid-table finishes and probably spent a fortune on kak.

Seems a decent chap but like most on TS, he does talk carp from time to time, and what annoys me about him, when someone says something blatantly incorrect about United, henever corrects them

A supposed United ticket season holder called in when they were discussing ticket prices and (I forget who it was, Brazil was ill) asked the caller if United still forced fans to buy the FA Cup and CL tickets is they were season ticket holders and the guy said no, he had oped out

Unless it's changed this season, you can only opt out of the LC. Irani didn't even correct him.

Remember another time when people were talking about Carrick for the Euros. Someone emailed in saying Carrick was too old and added 2 tears onto his age making him older than Scott Parker when in truth, Carrick is younger. Again, he said nothing

Decent chap but could be a bit more forthright for me

Irani is a Bolton and United supporter who now thinks of himself as an Essex boy.
In other words a bit of a pillock.

Barf Vader got it right, it was Newcastle.

For eight seasons in a row, they had one of the two most expensive teams . They managed to only get one 2nd place out of it all.
