A win would be fantastic but I'd still be happy with a draw. Hull aren't the most free-scoring team in the league and our defence seems strangely solid at the moment so I'm thinking it will probably be a low scoring match.

I will go for a Rovers win here and possibly 0-2,we look good at the back and with the speed of DJ we are a big threat going forward these days,,Peds a steady rock in midfield and even Murphy is getting fitter,oh and make no mistake we will have a tremendous following i would guess at 3000 +,,and no DD the match hasnt started yet that 1-0 Rovers was just a silly prediction..

Great article! The Wenger fallout was hilarious, the amount of stick him and Arsenal in general have given us over the years makes any contribution to their continuing decombustion very pleasing indeed.

Disappointing to lose last night, but up against an in form Hull it is not disastrous. Very big effort needed to have any chance of a play off place and I am of the opinion that we are now re-building for next year unless something remarkable happens.

Difficult to make up for the points lost in the Berg reign. Was always going to be hard against the team 2nd in the league last night, it's the games against the lower teams we need to be concentrating on.

Still lots of teams chasing that 6th spot so going to be a tight one and going to be hopeful we can pull it off. Asked 2 months ago I would have said it was an impossibility so at least we are going in the right direction.

If we don't make it then will be a case of losing some players in the summer (Pedersen (wages too high for championship), Robbo, Mn Olsson, all those daft Portugeuse signings, Formica, Rochina, Simon etc), and Appleton bringing in players to get the job done at this level.

personally I think the play-offs are out of reach now. 7 points off with 14 to play. you've got to assume that the play off teams will win at least half of their remaining games. I reckon we need to pick up a minimum 28 points from our remaining games which just feels like too much.

There's definitely been an improvement under Appleton, but still don't look like a team a capable of stringing 5 or 6 wins together, which is what we need to get in the mix.

We could win all these games but I'd be happy with with 8 points, 6 from the two home games and 2 draws on the road. If other results go our way that could see us in the playoff hunt again.

we just don't look like a team capable of winning enough games in a row. When you play in our current "smash and grab" style you have to be one hell of a team defensively to win consistently. Otherwise you're as likely to lose 1-0 as you are win 1-0.

I think the only feint hope is that Bentley comes in and provides a spark and enables us to score more freely.

Should we make the play offs it would be great.IMHO Appy needs to rebuild for next season and THEN go hell for leather,we have had 2/3 disastrous seasons of grief and turmoil,what we now need is to build and with that comes confidence and the crowds will return.I think with a couple of shrewd additions this squad will be ok for next season.

If we don't go up then we definitely need to keep our defence and Rhodes. I can see quite a few Premiership teams being in for both so I hope we stay firm and our players don't have their heads turned.

If we can keep most of our team and offload a few fringe players who are on high wages (like Robbo) then I think we can build from there and get promotion.

Keeping hold of them though star. As mentioned in my previous post loads will be leaving (fair enough most are already out on loan), but if Dann and Hanley continue to impress as they have in recent weeks, people will be sniffing around.

And god helps us if someone came in for Rhodes, hopefully a high valuation (we won't sell for less than we bought) will scare people off.

£10m at least for Rhodes on the basis of this season. Hopefully we can keep one of DJ and Kazim, doubt we'll need both with Best coming back and Forrester looking good for the reserves.

Still need to improve on the midfield but the defence isn't looking too bad right now and Kean should be our number one for the next few seasons at least.

If we go up I am afraid that we cant cut it at that level with the group of players we have(this is my opinion).Lets have a good cup run and see what the season brings? it cant be any worse than what we have suffered week in week out!

As long as we don't do worse than Derby, everything should be fine.

the big problem being that the club admitted the Rhodes signing was a gamble that would only pay off if we went up this season (because the TV money was going up next season). Based on that I'm not sure we'll be able to keep him next season. I'm also not confident that we'd make any money on him. We paid probably double his genuine market value. His performances this season have probably only put his value up to what we paid (maybe even a bit less). But I suppose it depends on how desperate someone is to get him.

I agree that, ignoring financial issues, not going up this season, and then having a season to build something properly next season would be better.

I fear that our financial situation will get worse next season. The managerial merry-go-round, the purchase of Rhodes and the high wages given to Murphy, Gomes and Etuhu…it smacks of desperation to me. The club bet it all on getting promoted this season. What will happen next season? Will we lose our best players? Let’s not forget that you will probably have teams like QPR, Wigan, Reading, Aston Villa etc. in the Championship next year who will all fancy their chance of getting promoted at the first attempt.

I don't think we will be going up this season Getting Henning Berg as manager is going to cost us, even if we make the play offs i'm not sure we are good enough to beat any of the other play off teams

I fancy Cardiff and Watford in automatic places with Hull maybe winning the play offs,,however there is still a slight chance we make it ,from now on in a good run would place you in the top six,and for me at least two of the top six will slip up.

BWH,i think we have to accept the fact that the Arsenal game was a fluke,,ok,a very hard fought defensivel fluke but never the less it was our day and when that happens we are going to win,had we done better at Hull i may have changed my tune here,but sadly we didnt and the cup run does give us some interest this season,but i think if we are all honest this season behind the scenes as cost the club and team dearly,,in fact mate last season as well,but it does look like the club is now on an even keel so maybe there is something for us all to look forward to..coybs..

Lets hope we can turn Millwall over then hope for a decent semi final draw,at least were getting some cash which will be needed .If Bradford can get to Wembley I see no reason why we cant.COYB
