I've said it before but can you imagine how different things would be now if Gartside had given Big Sam the £4million he wanted the January before he left.
I try not to if I'm honest. It just makes me sad.
A sad sad decline lads!.
Can it get better soon?.I predict next season will see the upper North stand,Lofty upper closed and crowds dwindling rappidly.I posted on another thread not promoting gloom but many of have seen this film before,eg Darlington 3000 in the 80s and it wasnt pretty believe me!.
Nuns - LH is right on the match thread. You are truly depressing at times
We are a long way from the 80's. This is more like 1998-1999. And two years later, things turned out rather well!!!!
We are tenth in terms of average attendance this season. What did surprise me is that Brighton are top by quite a bit.
i had us down to lose tonight so a point gained and finish on 55 points.
What have we won about 14/15 games in about twelve months?,that is depressing to me,aint to you?
Yes, I agree the last 12-18 months has been very poor. But we are still a long way off a repeat of the 80's.
A bit of perspective and optimism required!!!
1998-99 that was the season we lost to watford in the play off final.we made the play offs the next 2 seasons too going up 3rd time lucky, this is just a depressing relegation battle things have not been as bad since phil neal was in charge.

CEF, 12 points off Boro, it was 10 when we were winning last night. sadly we didn't win, so now 12 off the pace.
Draws are better than losing but we aren't making much headway on the play-off pack. I have said for a while that we won't make it, nothing has happened to change my mind.
I live in the hope that next season will be different. DF will sort out the team, his tactics will be superb, the team will still be intact, except for the players DF will release, the Tinkerman will have stopped tinkering and we will storm the league.
Well it's a good plan.
Our overall record at Derby is woefull. Sometimes clubs don't travel to certain places well.
Yes this season is a write off but lets not go overboard in our doom.
The end of the Phil Neal era was much, much worse than this.
There's plenty of time left in the league for a few teams to dive and rise. Look at Blackpool - riding high at the start of the season - now only a point better off.
SWIE - as I said, I am looking at Brighton. We are ten points behind them. Same games. We have a game in hand on Boro. Also Boro are out of form, but Brighton playing well.
That is my thinking in terms of needing to make up ten points. Brighton is the target team.
TBH, i have yet to see a team whos any good in this league. Palace looked half decent, and leicester looked strong, but other than that nobodies surprised me with there quality. My worry is is that we arent losing, or drawing un-luckily, we are getting the results we deserve. Just hope Doooooogie can sort it for next season, this seasons a write off for me

CEF, I understand what you are saying but it's Boro not Brighton who are in a play off position. For all we know, Brighton may not make a play off place.
I prefer to look at the teams who occupy those play off positions and wait and see what happens with the teams around them.

When we beat Posh ?? Based on what ?? Was it the drubbing they gave us before Christmas that makes you think this ?? Was it the 5-1 thrashing they gave to a team we struggled to get a point off the other week ??
