Not a bad draw from pots 1&2, no big guns, I think we'll all take points off each other so could be very interesting.

Still very difficult but could have been much worse.

I'm not going to say it's easy or we should be getting through etc but I have to say I'm delighted with the draw.

Ok there's no 'easy' teams but there are also no absolute stinkers either. We've avoided all the 'big name' teams which we have to be happy about.

All the teams in this group are capable of taking points of each other and I can see 3 or 4 teams taking it to the wire.

Levein's been a mixed bag so far but I'm sure most will agree he's been better than Burley and I'm sure he'll do better than GB in Macedonia and in Cardiff.

I reckon we've got the beating of Wales home and away providing we're at full strength, something Wales rarely get. Although if they are full strength in Cardiff it will be hard.

We should beat Macedonia and maybe even Serbia at home, hopefully picking up a point at least away. Croatia are beatable but always a tough side. I can't see us winning away to them and nothing short of our best (like Ukraine at Hampden) will see us win at home.

Either way this could have been so much worse and we're certainly in with a good chance here if our players stay fit, turn up and Levein continues his (slightly) more attacking style.

I reckon if Levein can't get us to Euro 2012 he should walk.
He learned from his ridiculous 4-6-0 line-up?
Had he played that against Spain and attacked Czech Rep. we would be better placed in that group.
And what's he trying to do to Fletcher?
Drugs test?
C'mon Craig/SFA.

Quebec

I'm not sure about that. We have a tough group, the start has been poor in terms of results but we are steadily improving.

Under Burley we seemed to get worse by the game except from against Holland, a game we never expected much from anyway. As long as we don't embarrass ourselves in this campaign I'd be happy for Levein to continue.

In terms of Fletcher, he exiled himself by not turning up for a Squad. simple as that. Levein has said the door is open and yet Fletcher refuses to comment. Seems like he's really interested doesn't it? Not sure what more Levein can do. If he names him in the squad and Fletcher then refuses a call up again it will just make Levein look daft. He certainly should not be grovelling to Fletcher, no international manager should have to that. Fletcher pulled out, he wasn't dropped. It's up to him what happens next. IMO if he was interested at all in coming back he'd have said something by now.

Fair enough. Why the drugs test?
That seems like harassment to me.

I certainly don't think Fletcher is Scotland's saviour, but that was ridiculous.

Happy with that, this is going to be a really tight group and no team will run away with this.

The drug test had nothing to do with Levein. The UK anti-doping authority randomly administers them.

Just because Stephen Hunt has decided to blame the SFA doesn't make it true.

Besides a professional sportsman should be available for a drugs test any time of day or night.

db, I agree. However the timing does give it the appearance of SFA interference.

I was just remembering that Greek runner at the Olympics.

But we are also capable of winning any team from that group.

Better being up against guys we might beat than teams like Italy or Spain that we've absolutely no chance against barring a France-esque fluke.

France was no fluke, we are simply the better team

Not going too good so far.

Here's hoping we can improve though.
