Rodrigo?

I'd have thought Coyle would've been looking at Rodrigo anyway as a loan striker.

He would certainly be a more interesting option now.

Nah. We'll be fine.

Klasnic (or, according to Sky Sports, Kalinic) can play the first half, score 3 or 4 and then we can shut up shop and win every game 3-2 ish.

Will be an interesting season.

I think he will stick with the midfielders he has got and Eagles will play there.

It's strikers we desperately need, in particular, someone with pace.

I wish people would stop refering to a 50/50 tackle. It was no 50/50, Chungy was running with the ball and their guy came flying in and hacked him down. You just don't go steaming in like that in friendlies. A 50/50 is when no-one has control of the ball and 2 players are trying to win it.

Don't think he'll be overly concerned with the right midfield situation because as others have said a striker is the player we are desperately in need of. Eagles will fit straight into the team and I think Mavies could play the wing role quite well as well.

I don't know who's seen the highlights of the Newport game but having watched them myself I would say that the midfield is easily the best part of our team at the moment with none of them afraid to roam and Reo-Coker looks like a completely different player to the one I remember.

Owen has been quoted again talking about Sturridge and is not giving up on him lightly which is great as long as he is looking elsewhere at the same time. If we were to sign two more players this summer I would like them to be Sturridge on loan and David Goodwillie for £2m. With those two I think we would have the best squad we've ever had.

Rusty, it was a 50/50.

The newport player thought he could get the ball after cyl over hit his touch

Let's stick to the OP's request here, eh?

The tackle has been done to death over the past 24 hours.

I am more than happy to talk about it on existing threads though...

I can't understand this fascination some posters have with Rodrigo. We're talking about a player who has achieved nothing in the game, did nothing in a whole season at BWFC, has stated he does not want to play for us, and would cost a lot of money in any case.

Personally I don't think we will be signing a right midfielder and that Coyle will use Eagles and Mark Davies there.

This for me we should only spend money on players that want to play for us and we still have the option for 4 loan players as well so that's another area too look at. A lot of teams have some good youngsters etc coming through and they could be worth a punt on loan to help sure up areas of weakness such as RM and CF

It certainly looks like we have to dig deep & sign another player to make up our elegible quota of 25 and we will be after 3 more players over 21, 4 if we sell Cahill of course.

Rodrigo seems the obvious solution unless we can cajole a very good loan player, possibly of part of a Cahill switch.

Here's the loan rules agian for Prem teams to avoid confusion.

A Prem team is allowed 4 Prem loanees over the course of the season, but only 2 at anyone time and only one from the same Prem team at anyone time. Transactions are only allowed within the transfer windows.

We are allowed as many loanees as we wish from other leagues, within the windows of course.

Special dispensation is for goalkeepers where you can sign from a willing donor outside of the window, even if it takes you above your allotted 25 man ruling

Well after the disaster show that was Arsenal's defence yesterday i think Wenger might be thinking about digging deep and finally putting up instead of shutting up as Owen as called for by the end of this weekend.
Who could we possibly take on loan from the Gunners as part of a Cahill transfer?

--------

With most loanees being players that don't see their future with their parent club, I think Fabregas might be available!
