Would still have doubts on Ba and Lukaku as our strikeforce next season

If we can get a GOOD striker this summer then I wouldn't mind another season on loan there for him.

We do need still need one genuinely world class striker like Falcao or Cavani if we're to have high ambitions for next season in addition to anyone we buy as backup in that position

Thing is we could invest the 50m that would be required for Falcao/Cavani and really get a top class CM which is what we desperately need imo. As the season has progressed Lukaku has proved to be a nuisance against most PL defences. His touch and link up play has also improved. He scores goals too. Surround him with better players and a good manager next season and he could be quality

With regular game time, I think Ba would do a very good job too

Lukaku will be a monster of a striker, but in another couple of years.

A top striker can help improve our league form drastically but agreed Don that we also need a top midfielder if we want to do well in Europe

Didn't think he would take pens while a loanee.
Brommies must trust him more than we do

Utd fan here, I think you should loan him out again next season.

Sure you might think you need him, but I doubt he'd get that many games for you so best let him continue to develop.

He's gonna basically be Drogba version 2 in a couple of years.

He'd get games if Torres goes in the summer

We should bring him back not as a first choice striker but a back up striker.

As Gazza said. Its a completely different situation at West Brom. We're under the spotlight every single game. We're expected to win every single game. I suspect he's playing with freedom because he knows if West Brom win lose or draw, nothing much really gets said about them. Very big difference at Chelsea though.

The conundrum is how will we know if he's good enough for us if we dont bring him back. What if we bring him back too early, what if he doesnt want to come back? What if we keep changing managers and bring him back and stunt his development again? Some of our future managers might not fancy him as well.

True enough... Chelsea should loan him out to an Italian club next season.. purely to kick him up to the next level and learn some more "strike-craft", possibly follow it up with a loan to another premiership club after that season.

Chelsea need the finished article to challenge and therefore can afford to bring in a Falcao or Cavani and then bring in Lukaku a couple of years later.

Until Roman's stops rising to Torres Lukaku won't progress at Chelsea

He doesn't need to, to be fair. Chelsea can afford to send him on loan and let him progress.

Wait till we see where we finish

Yeah I wasn't proposing for him to come back and be first choice. I'm just starting to think that it'd be wiser to develop him ourselves as 2nd choice (Hopefully he can become 1st choice), rather than fork out 50m plus a 200k wage package. He's already shown that he can be a nightmare for defences in the premiership, and easing him into things while playing Ba and another striker could be a masterstroke financially
