You are reading too much into the fact that billy has not played lately in the last few games since Davies was appointed. Sharp has had a knock and has been recouvering today he had ten minutes as a sub. Davies has always been an admirer of billy and has tried to sign him in the past.
Davies is just and has been evaluating the squad ie forward permutations as well bur billy has not been fit. Believe u me Davies knows his strengths and is just easing him in and looking at all the forward permutations, billy is very much part of his plans.
Last time Davies was here he had 6 strikers and he in a game will often sub. after 60 minutes to change the direction of the game or if we are doing well still look at other options.
So relax Davies has the premiership as a target and for that he knows he needs players of the ability of billy sharp. He will unleash him at the right time
What Sikh Red said. Sharp's been injured. As for BD's opinion of him, I'm sure we tried to sign him in BD's first reign at Forest.
I've been asking the same question Giddy. I hope he has been injured and that Billy will bring him back in. Sharp is a top quality Championship striker and we need him firing if we're going to have any success this season. I hope we can sign him permanently but I imagine it won't happen.
Caniggia, he's a must for next season. Don't think we'll go up personally. Left it too late I feel. He is a quality forward who gets goals. Plus his rapport with the fans is second to non which is a huge plus!
Out of all the strikers, I'd get rid of Blackstock. Won't happen as he's just a signed a new deal, 4 years... I bet he's laughing!
Everyone played crap under McCleish. If that man ever gets a job in football again I'll be amazed. I'm so glad Fawaz said no to George Boyd. I wouldn't let AM spend my money either.
Billy Sharp will sign for us if we want him to because we're Nottingham Forest. He's a good championship player, but not a premiership player. I'm not convinced he wouldn't struggle in the top flight simply because he's not that quick. I certainly don't think there'll be a queue of top flight clubs in for him. He's only got 10 goals, and there are about a dozen strikers in this division with more. Don't get me wrong, I think he's good, but by no means too good for us.
If he is just playing out his contract that is very unwise, and very unprofessional.
What will his options be at the end of his season? Back to St Marys to warm the bench at best? Be sold or loaned out to an as yet unidentified club (Brizzle)? Or staying where he is (if we still want him)?
If you were Billy, which would you be striving for?
bang on redfor i think (hope) sharp will want to stay with where he is a fan favourite
