Nice article, the 4 sharing. I hold Bradford as our bitter rivals but today its a tale of 2 things:
ROMANCE - THE CUP IS A MULTI DIVISIONAL ENTITY WHICH APPEALS TO OUR SOFTER SIDE. AS HUMANS WE NATURALLY LOOK TO PROTECT THE WEAK, HENCETHE UNDERDOG FAVOURITISM.
FAMILIARITY - BRADFORD ARE THE NEAREST BIG CITY TO US, IN FOOTBALL AND RUGBY THEY ARE A HUGE RIVAL. HOWEVER THIS FAMILIARITY MAKES US IRONICALLY PROTECTIVE OF THEM.
I'm rooting 4 the Bantams! Yorkshire is due some glory, will be tough 4 them tho, expecting them 2 get passed 2 death on such a big pitch.
I was saying to my brother yesterday that sky are a shambles. If it would have been two "fashionable" teams the coverage would have started at 3 or earlier. But 3:30 for a major final that kicks off at 4,ridiculous!
I hope Bradford do it, I'm probably the only one in my family, but sod it. All the best mini chickens
Funny thing local rivalry...not that we've seen much of Bradford since their repaid demise down the league tables...
In a way I'm quite pleased for them, I've enjoyed their epic battles through this competition, sticking it up the big premier league teams...lowly Bradford, representing the oppressed Northern Towns, the rump end of the country which nobody is interested in, least of all the Tory Govt...so good on them I say.
Yes, I'll be hoping they put on a good show, but it doesn't quite have the same impact playing Swansea as it would if they were playing maybe Chelsea or another of the big , rich London clubs..
Nevertheless they represent us all, in a way, the smaller clubs who the FA ignore most of the time...and how inconvenient that they have got to the final instead of one of the 'big boys'...I can see the FA Officials squirming and plotting how to stop it happening again. Only the big and influential clubs are supposed to reach show case finals at Wembley, and yet here we have two clubs, neither at all fashionable, but both worthy of their place on the top stage today.
For the fans, all 32,000 new found Bantams fans, a great day out...and yes if it was Town...I'd be on my way down to the capital today. Massive publicity, a much needed cash injection into the empty coffers at Valley Parade...and a memory which will stick with them for ever I guess.
While the top clubs only look to the Champion League, and pay little respect to these sort of cup competitions maybe we'll see more of the 'lower' clubs getting through to the final stages in future.
We all know it's only a matter of time before a breakaway European League is formed, but for the rest of us this just shows, there is a life after they have all departed to richer pastures. Bradford has been buzzing like never before (well maybe since they got to the Premier league) , you can not deny they don't deserve it, and you can not deny they deserve their day out, regardless of the score...which is secondary really to the occasion for the fans...Ideally it's a close fought game, Bradford get a goal or two and the watching public are entertained and caught up in the unfolding drama.
Good luck Bradford, you deserve this...enjoy your day out I say.
Be Honest,
How many of us would be Wembley bound today if it was 'our' team involved.
=======================================
Good luck Bradford! Would be great for the city and football in general for them to win this!
I like Jackos comment..
"representing the oppressed Northern Towns, the rump end of the country which nobody is interested in,"
Nothing like creating a Us & them scenario
Although I have to say...
Swansea fans will pretty much be thinking along the same lines re- The 'Pigs with their snouts in the trough' at Westmiser'z ..
So Northern England v South Wales then !
wonder who the Black Country boys will be going for today.....
& the Cockaniese ? are vay bover'd
I bet Sky are poxed off, this isn't going to bring in the advertising revenues is it...shame !
Mind you, we'll still get action actions replays every 2 minutes and they will still miss 'live action' while we're viewing it from every conceivable angle
Don't get me going on this again! Champers, keep quiet! Up the Swans.
Good Thread Darn Underz, You ok Mate ?
Come On Bantams, i agree with most comments on here, and as my little sister and her hubby are big fans, i'm hoping it goes their way
Also like the idea of every Bradford player sporting the No 56 on their Wembley tracksuits in remembrance of the ones who died in the Valley Parade fire .
Good morning Highlander
I like it.....
An emotional 5 comment if ever I saw one...
'56'..
Fantastic suggestion,
Does anyone know ?
Will the Bantams break out in spontaneous applause on 56 minutes ?
Looking forward to this,
There'll not be a dry eye in the house if they can win this one.
Shame 'they' don't patronize 606 !
We could have had a monster thread going here.

2-0...bradford no attempts on goal???
young coach, keep it tight , let them have the ball and drop off to try and press it in our half..
never f-cking works, why do they stick with the bloody manual???
bradford got there by 100 mile an hour chasing/harrying the premier teams they came up against...getting it back and sticking into the mix..
get to wembley and change what they have been doing..
"its a big pitch , blah de f-cking blah", stay in the game etc etc..
not for me, get to wembley and f-cking go for it from the start, they still might be 2-0 down but they might have had a chance or even a few corners....
you must try and win against higher league opposition or eventually they just create a few things and you get d-cked without troubling them at all..
They should be getting beaten all things considered,
They are still trying, That's all they can do for now.
I enjoy watching them, They put plenty of effort in,
If the 'other' lot are better players, What else can they do. !
Lets see how they go in the 2nd half,
As long as they are doing their best, We can't expect more...

All over, Chris Rock scores again.
Oh dear, hard lines mini chickens
Wells off, for a goalie.......damage limitation ?
it started as "damage limitation" thats where it went wrong..
chasing a premier league team when you are already 2-0 down is fatal..
chase the f-ckers at 0-0 and at least make them break sweat..
wembley is not a "day out" or a "good money spinner" its a professional game of football and if you dont even think you can compete there is no point going...
im a football fan but if i want a "day out" i wouldnt go to football, its a serious business and i always go to watch town play(no matter how bad they can be) who we are playing might be a bonus, ie; arsenal/chelsea etc in recent years but essentially im there to watch town.. bradford city have gone to wembley to "watch" swansea play and thats sh-t...
Aye, once again i agree, they should have gone for it, the Bradford players seem scared to make a tackle ffs
you might only get one chance to play at wembley and you might only get one chance to take the lead in a cup final..
gotta grab both opportunities...
much easier to get a goal and then hang on than surrender a couple of goals and the whole game and then try and "comeback", they will just rip you to pieces eventually..
have 3 midfielders run themselves into the ground, thats why you have 3 subs.. go down kicking and screaming if you have to..
in their heart of hearts the bradford fans(i mean the ones that actually go to league games) wont have "enjoyed their day out"....
you just dont get to a cup final to have a jolly in london, thats for the rugby league fans..
They are getting hammered! Enough of this love in! Just couldn't see there fans cheering Town on if we got there. They would be laughing at there tellies just like me today!
