He'd better have kept himself in shape.
Hafeez is not an opening batsman. Never has been, never will be. He's a useful bowler at times, but we really need better.
I'm pretty sure he would have going by his interviews.
Yeah agree on Hafeez. His batting only suits the sub continent and so does his spin bowling. Overall he is a sub continent player and should only play in the sub continent I guess.
The term for Hafeez is flat track bully. He needs to be dropped full stop cos even on flat tracks against fast bowling he struggles. He was poor against England last year.
I hope this annihilation makes the people who schedule Tests for Pakistan cricket make them open their eyes.
If Pak is to improve at Tests level - they have to play more Test matches outside of the sub-continent.
They need to play More test matches than the shorter format of the game.
Also Pak have to plan a test tour overseas WHOLE lot better than this one. 1 warm up match is no way adequate enough to challenge an opposition like South Africa.
Going more than 6 months without a Test match is just appalling.
This tour was also not helped by poor selections & injuries.
Pak need to consider creating an A team. Like England do with England Lions. Pak test cricket future is in jeopardy. I really hope this series does not mean those dark days return.
Pak need to regroup in the shorter form of the games. Play with more freedom & aggression.
At times Pak were way too easily bullied & intimidated. Pak need to stand up & fight like cornered tigers & play for redemption in the shorter forms of the games.
I'd love to see the players reaction if Misbah tried to come out with the 'cornered tiger' line. Unfortunately Misbah could not do the talking on the crease.
This A tour is a good shout. Wonder why no bright spark at PCB did not think of that? Next time we play in these conditions will be 2016
when do we play outside sub continent again?
I dont think its fair to single out individuals.
Pak lost as a team.
Comprehensively beaten by well & truly better team. The best in the world at Test Cricket.
There is no shame in losing to the Best test team in the world & probably one of the best of all times.
I personally believe Pak lost because they did not prepare well for this test series.
They havent played test for over 5-6 months.
They have not played outside of sub continents conditions in test for nearly 14 months.
Lack of match practice.
South Africa played Australia & then New Zealand before playing Pak. They played 5 Test matches before the played Pak. Saffas well ahead of being in match shape & fitness.
1 warm up match is not good enough.
After the ODI series vs India - what have Pak been doing? They could have gone to Saffa 2-3 weeks early & learn about the conditions, play more warm up matches. Get to know & understand the conditions. Study their opponents & find out their weakness etc.
Lack of preparation for a major series like this cost Pak dearly.
(Just like it cost England vs Pak in UAE at start of 2012)
Pak lost as a team but some individuals were shocking and some were good so don't see any harm in highlighting individuals
Maybe a few of these players, i.e. Azhar Ali should play on the English domestic circuit...if our bowlers go, why shouldn't our batsmen, who need it the most out of all our players.
