Exactly Melton, for all his faults, and he does have a few, where would the 2 respective Manchester teams be now if we had managed to secure the signing of RVP.

It might just be me, but I sometimes find his choices of subs to be a little strange. Quite often he changes offensive players for defensive when drawing/sitting on a 1 goal lead. I think the big thing for him this year is a solid cup run, a minimal gap between City and United and some signings to try to get City competitive in Europe. Though I think before you sign anyone, if there truly is an eye on FFP, you'll need to offload some players first.

That last paragraph - when put like that, it doesn't sound as bad as is being made out. I'm not sure whether Mancini is just brilliant at mind games, or whether he truly believes some of the things he comes out with though.

The media have it in for him an idiots like onh latch onto it.

As we have heard, when I'm at the match I join in singing the managers name an everyone I speak to want him to stay.

He actually does that more often when we are losing. It is to change the shape of the team, when he does that, we tend to be losing the midfield battle as we play quite a lot with two up front. Due to that, we can at times struggle to get the ball up to them as we are overran in midfield.

Don't think of it as a defensive substitution though, it is just changing the shape to try and unlock the team we are playing against and more often than not, it works. If we just put all three strikers on the pitch, it won't make us more attacking. If anything, it will just mean we won't be able to keep the ball long enough to do anything!

It seems to me that there is a definite agenda in the press to get him sacked, they have a thing for Mourinho though so it may well be thet they just want him back in England to create headlines every week.

As far as United fans are concerned though we hope he stays in the main as a better man-manager would have that team dominating for a long time tbh.

He may bring a defender to make it 3 at the back, or to move Yaya more forward, yesterday he brought on Tevez for Rodwell and moved Yaya back.

Loz

what you on about that United fans dont sing songs about Fergie? You have just made that up!

There are a few about Fergie... to my knowledge their is only just one about Mancini at City.

Is Paul a idiot?

No he's not an idiot, but you my city obsessed rag are an idiot.

Here's an idea it's a good one, why don't you try talking about united your supposed own team for a change, brake the habit of a lifetime an leave city to its fans it a poster that might have a decent point to make, something you are yet to do.

I have to say your streak of not saying anything worthwile is really impressive, you have a talent for making a lot of noise without saying anything of note.

Well can't spend all day conversing with a troll like you.

Off to the city board where you are now banned.

See you later dipshit!

is being obsessed talking about your nearest rivals?

some city fans on here qualify for that tag then

ONH I don't know what you have done to poor Loz but you seem to have sent him crazy....

Personally I don't really rate Mancini as a manager, I think his success at Inter was heavily dependent on his domestic rivals being taken out by the match fixing scandal in Europe where his rivals had not been taken out he failed miserably...

I don't think he has exactly done a spectacular job at City either, considering their expenditure over the last few years his team should have done far better in Europe and the domestic performance hasn't been brilliant either. He scraped past a United team riddled with injuries on goal difference and managed to win the same cup Portsmouth did a few years back.

I am not saying he isn't a good manager, to even get to the position he is now, or to be offered the Inter job you have to be a good manager, I just don't think he is anything more than just good, plenty better out there than him...

All the being said I am more than happy for Man City to keep Mancini, I doubt they would replace him with someone worse so the longer he stays there the better for me...

As do some United fans as well, to be fair

7 The Arab,

I don't think he failed miserably in Europe with inter, he consistently got them out of the group stage and to the quarter finals, which is exactly what Mourinho did with the same players before he spent 100 million.

I admit his record with us is less than good in Europe, but I think people are a bit harsh on his previous record.

posted on 25/2/13

I'm sure he'll be gutted you don't rate him.

I think this article is bloôdy pointless as we can see most of us Utd fans aint bothered if Mancini gets sacked, i think he's doing ok, its the vultures in the media/ press that are making out that he's under pressure and they wont be happy until either him or Wenger go and until then we'll have to put up with half truths printed in the rags.

not hard that is it, all I've done is answer the question asked by a city fan on here about their manager, I even praised him!

the Stockport jessie MUST be on drugs.

The same papers who are saying Mancini should be sacked, are the same ones who rate Hart higher than De Gea.

They know nothing.

The papers do actually get things right from time to time.

I don't want to turn this into a Hart/De Gea debate, but has De Gea actually given away any penalties, and for the matter, I don't recall VdS giving too many away either.

Obviously everyone makes mistakes, that's all Hart's was. City don't seem to give many penalties away full stop.

I think by the standards of a top manager his time at Inter in Europe was a failure, Inter had one of the biggest (if not biggest for a time under him) wage bills in Europe and were one of the bigger spenders around. I struggled to find his finishes in Europe actually listed anywhere but from memory he regularly progressed through the group stages as you mentioned earlier but he usually got knocked out fairly early in the knockout rounds.

This doesn't make him a terrible manager but you would think a really good one would have made more progress in Europe with such a well backed team.

In fairness Mourinho didn't really spend that much net spend at Inter did he?

I thought the majority of his work was funded by the big move for Ibrahimovic to Barcelona, which was in a way down to Mourinho...

How much did Jose spend at Porto?

I don't think Hart is in great form this season, hasn't really been a good one for him.

Think DDG is having a pretty good season, certainly seems to have settled now.

I would say Hart is probably the better keeper right now, although DDG is in better form. I wouldn't say there is a huge amount in it between the two of them.

I think when both are older and at their peak there wont be a huge amount to separate the two of them.
