The CL win makes the decision the right one, regardless of anything else, so no we weren't wrong to sack him and yes we made the right decision. Plus he's an excuse making .
I've said before, I think he will be a great manager - I'm just glad its not with us.
As for this season, we would have done better had we kept RDM or Carlo and yep would have done better under AVB. That's more an indication of much the board messed up than anything else though.
JTHT the potatoes have gone above us now into 3rd. Difficult to take seeing how much we spent in the summer and what they spent and who they hired as manager. We deserve it. Well the board deserve it. Bunch of clowns.
I think we made the right decision to sack him.
The problem now is that our team isn't as good.
The players aren't anywhere near as good.
I think we've actually done a poor job of replacing the players - but this opens a can of worms...
because, yes we've got some great players in Hazard in Mata, but some of the other players we've bought just aren't as good as there predecessors...
Rafa is just a whole different story, I can't stand him, YES he shouldn't have been employed in the first place and lets face it, it wasn't JUST Roman that hired him, there were several people that did it and they are pratt's... why oh why did we hire him but he has completely fu(ked up the rest of the season after RDM was sacked with stupid decision after stupid decision... literally cannot wait until he is gone
No, it was the right decision. He was a disaster, and he has now learnt from his mistakes.
because, yes we've got some great players in Hazard in Mata, but some of the other players we've bought just aren't as good as there predecessors...

This is the problem. Man for man our squad is weaker now despite spending ludicrous sums of money on it.

Well, if you speak to the scousers, he was quite successful with Valencia about 2000 years ago..
He also won a Champions League with another mans squad...
...and the Supercup and World Club Cup with another man's squad.
Just don't point out that he led a treble-winning side into the relegation zone (they don't like that!).
I've said before, I think he will be a great manager - I'm just glad its not with us.

i don't think he'd have won the champions league and the victory in munich has to make it the right decision.
But at the time i did not want him sacked and i do maintain he will, with the right team be a good Manager.
His team ARE going to finish above us this season, but one campaign does not end it all. We've finished above Utd a few times, but ultimately they've come back and pretty much trumped anything we've achieved under Roman.
Typical. 2 Spuuds 5 my thread.
I don't really blame Benitez - he was in a difficult situation because he was never the right man for this job.
Any manager would struggle with the lack of squad depth we have but he is doing a poor job of it anyway - even in difficult circumstances.
Its funny that we're even talking about squad depth after spending close to £200m in the last 2 years.
Mr C
I know!! its so frustrating, because it makes me worry about who the hell makes the decisions..... yes, Mata and Hazard and Oscar were decent buys.. but what about the others? some of them just aren't going to cut it are they? or they just arent "premiership or european" winners quality? (if that makes sense)
(btw this isn't a dig at Ramires, and this is taking other games hes played it aswel, but my god is his touch horrendous )
Edin
There are managers who I respect but don't particularly like.
AVB is one of those - I respect the achievements at Porto and what he is starting at Spurs but I don't like his demeanour and so I'm glad he's not representing my club anymore.
Galv anything else you want to copy?

Chelsea article about Spurs.
Utd fan tries to make it about Liverpool
In fairness, Marin looked a good buy at the time. Ba too.
Azpilcueta looks the business, but is still learning. Courtois is an absolute beast. However, you are missing a Suarez, RVP, Tevez type.
Also, you need better CBs than Cahill and Luiz and a more talented DM than Mikel.
Mr C the season isn't over yet. AVB still has a lot of work to do at Spurs. So far he's been great after a slow start but one win away at the spammers, albeit a good one, still only means 3 points. Benitez could still mix things up with the amount of games yet but my main worry for both Chelsea and Spurs in the goone rs.
Despite the constant negative press they are just 3/4 points behind both our teams and they do keep churning out results in the Prem. They have only really played badly in the cups of late which isn't a good sign.....

I dont understand why you dislike AVB? He may be a little bit moany at times but so are all managers. Plus his press conference when he slated the press was brilliant.

and this is what i've been constantly moaning about for the past 2 years...
I personally think we've done a poor job in the transfer market, taking out a few players (mata, hazard), we've bought players that aren't good enough and for alot of money so we've spent £200 odd million on players and some proabably wouldn't even get in the newcastle side

Bahamas unless Chelsea stop these jekyll and hyde performances, we seem to have in games, we will be fighting it out with Arsenal for 4th imo.
Yep the CL victory alone makes it the right decision.
He made big mistakes at Chelsea but he has learned from this and boy am I glad we have him.
He is turning into a top manager and the passion and drive he has is there for all to see. The togetherness with the players as well and he has got the squad fighting for each other.
Love the way he celebrates our goals as well, and the clebration last night with all the players just shows he is creating something special.
