Kos was trying keep the ball in play. He could have cleared it anywere. He did the worst thing he could have done in that situation. Even firing it back at Ospina would have been better.

Agreed, but there we are. Times I've been shouted down on this site for saying Kos is pretty average.

But there we are.

Put Kos next to Sol, or TA and he'd be great. He's not a leader though, he a right hand man, sort of player.

It's why he worked best with Mert. For all Mert's issues, he at least has leadership qualities.

Nah, you're right first time Lex. Kos is garbage. A slight improvement on Squillaci.

Mert and Holding CB partnership needed for the away leg

No decent CBs since Gilberto left us.

Just a coincidence though.

RIGHT, ARSENE?!

Wenger should have been playing Chambers/Holding as much as possible in the non important matches starting from a few weeks ago. But he is to loyal to the dressing room and his c0cksvkers. Dein moving on players he thought were not quite good enough quickly was something Wenger never really appreciated.

Mert against Greizmann. Would have been pure comedy.

Btw this is the same Mert who publicly said he is not motivated to play football? Those leadership qualities?

Don't let your Krautaphobia get in the way of understanding my point, J99.

"Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker says he would rather not play for Arsenal again because of the physical and mental "burden" professional football brings with it."

We need to rid ourselves of these french bottlers (no offence IAWT). Replace them with Spanish steel and German krautness.

I like the Spanish. Bayern pretty much waved the white flag so feeling a little allergic to the Bundesliga.

Bayern were all over Real.

Madrid has surely used up all it's luck for an entire season this week!

Sorry lex. but I don't consider this very 'leadery'

Some days you realise everything is a burden, both physically and mentally but you have to deliver without a doubt.

"The pressure is very intense. I always have this horror story in my head, to make a mistake and be responsible for a conceded goal. If the fans celebrate it is great, it is unbelievable. But if they are booing you, I always feel very ashamed.

"In the moments before a game starts, my stomach turns around as if I had to vomit. Then I have to choke so violently until my eyes water."
