If we sell Vermaelen I am done with Wenger

It depends on Tommy V himself.

There is a world cup next year so I can't blame him if he wanted guaranteed first team football, and he hasn't got that at the moment.

Wenger is pretty rubbish at rotating that's the problem.

If you look at United, they have Ferdi, Vidic, Jones, Evans who all got games at CB this season and they stayed solid. Why can't we have 3 CB's all playing well and rotating ?

Vermaelen has no choice. He extended his contract recently so if we dont want to sell him he has to stay.

Knowing our luck with injuries during a season he will surely get his chances. So selling him is no option.

Need to get rid of Djourou though.

DJ, they're defence is not worse than ours! They just had a poor start to the season, lot's of high scoring games.

I'd say they are about equal, but the difference is that we rely on Kos & Mert at the minute, whereas United constantly chop and change.

Yeah, because that's how football works, hence why we kept Fabregas, Nasri and co

You know how many times Rio has started 38 league games in his United career in a season?

0.

More than 31 times? Just for 4 seasons.

Rotation is key for Fergie

Pathetic really. I said if we dont want to sell him. Cesc situation was different anyway. Dont think that any club would buy Vermaelen for that amount of money we got for Nasri. Its not difficult, Chris.

At least someone talks sense.

Did we want to sell Fabregas? No.
Did we want to sell Nasri? No.

Wenger "It's would be impossible to convince people you are serious if you sell both Nasri & Fabregas"

If Verm wants to leave, we will let him go. Simple.

God... Fabregas was promised he could leave when Barca is involved (Wenger promise to Fabregas a year before he left).

Nasri was an economical decision. City came up with this amount of money and we did business therefore.

This year is completely different. We have money to spend and dont need to sell any player as our main players are on longterm contract (incl. Vermaelen). So if we dont want to sell him which I do believe we dont otherwise it wouldnt make sense to extend his contract Vermaelen is Arsenal bound.

Vermaelen will leave. We should try to punt him to Barca as a straight swap for Cesc.
