I thought Caicedo could cover both Xhaka or Partey and due to him being 21, is one for the future.

No, I (think I) understand why we want Caicedo. I'm just thinking, in the context of this title run, would it be a disaster if we didn't sign Caicedo, or indeed any future £60m+ cover or Partey or Xhaka, during this transfer window?

Obviously not. Trossard and Jorginho = total cost £32m. (plus addons). Pragmatic signings to improve the squad.
The first 11 are already good enough to win the league. When we win the game in hand we will be more than 6 points ahead of City with more than half the season played so we have faced everyone. City have not bought anyone. In fact they have weakened by selling Cancelo.

How many box midfielders are valued more than £80m? Bellingham and Camavinga? Who else? Caicedo may well be cheaper in the summer.
Jorginho is an opportunistic signing by Arsenal but it's worth noting that Mikel Arteta is a long-time admirer.
Arsenal tried to sign Jorginho in 2020, and Arteta was at City when they wanted him in 2018. In 2019, Arteta told Marca that he loves a "Jorginho type" of midfielder.

All it says they will review in the next few weeks. Elneny is liked in the dressing room so I suspect we will leave it till the summer to assess whether we can get a loan fee for him.

Think we've improved the squad this window and we should be in a pretty good place financially in the summer.
Have we improved it enough? Time will tell I guess.
Classy to look after Elneny through his injury
Elneny shouldn’t get a new contract. Nothing against the guy but he’s had 2 bad injuries and can’t be relied upon anymore, move him and Sambi on and get Rice and Caicedo in the summer
