What did Martinelli do yesterday to warrant a red?

posted on 15/5/23

God knows? Only found out after all the faff on Keowns comments.

Might have been the other home game when he backed I to the jumping player

Martinelli jumped for a header but sort of turned into Mitoma. The sort of thing you see a lot that is never called a red by Neville the weasel.

Then trying to justify the penalty spurs got last season because Soares had the cheek to jumped at the same time as Son was ridiculous bias

Kane backing into defenders then ducking down and causing them to fall over him onto their necks just being clever though 🤔

Kane "clever" for bending over and causing the player jumping for the ball to tip over.
Martinelli should be sent off for the same.

Don't think Tyler cares about criticism tbh. Hes always trending for being shiiiit, he must know about it.

They need to get Peter Drury and ally mccoist on comms

Drury is the best... If they go for Matterface I will cancel my Sky subscription

Did we bottle the league?

I think there's a clear correlation between salibas injury and our downturn in form tbh. Arteta could have managed that better.

But I don't think the players caved in to fear of anything. Trust me, I saw those young Wenger teams. Just think we ran out of steam.

2-0 up two weeks in a row then totally throwing it away. Then going 2 down in the opening stages against the worst team in the league and only really playing well in the last 2 minutes plus injury time.
That was losing their bottle.

Also think very much that concentration was lost in the run up to Man City games. Their shadow loomed large and we went to shiiit.

Yeah I think there's no doubt we bottled it somewhat, although there were other factors at play they shouldn't have affected what happened against West Ham and Southampton.

City haven't dropped points since February, if they were dropping points you could easily say we 100% bottled the league but as it is it's just a mini bottle

We would have needed the 4th highest winning total in PL history, that has to be factored in. Not like when Spurs bottled the league to Leicester who finished with one of the lowest of the century.

Yeah there's obviously the elements of overachieving and City being ridiculous to be factored in, just the way we lost control makes it feel like a bigger bottling than it was.

I dunno. I think a slightly over performing team got found out with their star CB injured. The manager didn't react quick enough. There's lessons for all of them here.

I watched us last week against Newcastle. That's not a team of bottlers. They battled hard to get a victory.
