Top 4, beat City in the league, knock a big club out of Europe and winning a domestic trophy, 4+ points vs Spurs, that would be a successful season.

Dont think its that simple. if we scrape top 4 maybe theres a question there but I think most would agree Arteta would surely deserve another season if so

Didn't we win like 11 straight games with Emery and 22 unbeaten or something?

Then he got rewarded with Pepe, David Luiz and Tierney

That doesn't make up much of the £150m

So when we spent loads of money (Pepe) it doesn't count because he wasn't great

And when we got someone who is great (the Nelli) it doesn't count because he wasn't that expensive

Emery's downfall had nothing to do with the signings.
He lost the dressing room, the place went toxic, he said it himself. He works with a figure like Monchi, perhaps if Monchi was at Arsenal he would've done well.
