Arteta says he has 'no intention' of allowing Gabriel Jesus to leave this summer and that he would 'love' Jorginho to stay amid ongoing contract talks with the midfielder.

Shame really. Probably means only one striker incoming to replace Eddie.

Reus is available for free.

Once Man City are relegated to the lowest tier in the Summer we should sign Haaland.

Newcastle are in advanced talks to sign 18-year-old Arsenal winger Amario Cozier-Duberry whose contract expires in July.

Jesus is a Brazil international with a good CL scoring record. Easy 40mill

This is the problem with Arteta neglecting these academy players. They see no future at Arsenal so just run down their contracts and leave.

Not saying that any of them will make it at Arsenal but at least with some first team appearances and time remaining on their contracts, we can at least get fees for them. Most of those Liverpool youngsters probably won’t make it at the highest level but because they’ve got so much exposure that Liverpool will end up selling them off for inflated fees.

I have criticised Arteta for a lack of rotation as much as anyone, but you can't expect him to select players he thinks are not ready or good enough. And tbf you can't blame Cozier wanting to move if he sees his path blocked. Newcastle probably offered more money.

Cozy-Dubz is clearly a better player than Sagoe jr, was putting in better performances, is younger and was in the squad a few times before Sagoe jr. Was a very strange choice to give Sagoe jr the call up ahead of quite a few alternatives. Almost as if Arteta wanted him to flop to justify not picking youth players.
Now Cozy-Dubz is off to Geordieland and Saggy is rotting in the Swansea youth team.

Reports we may lose Chido - although that always happens as we cannot sign players on pro-terms til they are 17 so always a bit of jeopardy there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Walters, Patino and Biereth leave for very little this summer.

Be interesting to see where the yootz investment gets us.

Arsenal are at the very top now. So anyone coming in has to have potential to be world-class.

Will be interesting if the youth setup changes to adapt to the new National League/Premier League 2 merger.

posted on 3/5/24

There isn't a merger. There is a cup very similar to the EFL Trophy though. A trade off for cup replays.

Oh! I think they were suggesting that it could morph into League Division 5 as it develops.

Interesting about Obi-Martins and Bayern. I think the club rate Ethan and Obi as the highest prospects. I can't see them leaving with a clearer pathway into the first team squad.

Is there a clear path into the first team squad under Arteta. Lets not forget there was a third name in that list a few days ago...

If Barca can get to CL quarters with teens, there’s no excuse not to promote one or two players. Even in Yh e dark periods few seasons ago, it was Saka & ESR that gave confidence for future.

Yeah. But I did think he is a victim of Edu's wasteful spending on Vieira. I suppose that was their decision. Who has the higher potential behind Saka? I assume Arteta thought Vieira could do a different job, like Bernardo Silva does as for City. They must do detailed analysis on the ceiling for all youth players.
