Clubs can build organically by following rules. The idea that the only way to break into the top 4 is to cheat is a myth perpetuated by idiots on the Internet and by a few in the media who are so desperate for contacts in those clubs they are willing to sell their souls.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone that thinks that any team outside about half a dozen teams in the league can "build organically" to consistently challenge for the title lives in cloud cuckoo land. It's as silly as any serious person expecting that a team like Fulham could suddenly become regular contenders without outside investment. Except the PL made a host of reforms copying the American model and capping the financial muscle of the big boys, this is impossible. Leicester should have been the model for all these clubs "building organically" and after they won the facking league and then got relegated shortly after. It's deluded to believe anyone outside a cartel of 6 or so clubs can constantly challenge around the top.

Our draw is not why we lost the title, stupid for Rodri to say that. Plus we didn't intentionally go there for a draw.

Always hated Emery. When he was at PSG, more so when he was our manager but that has got even stronger since the Villa game

How many clubs have stadium capacity larger than 50,000?
How many clubs are owned by billionaires?

Why do they need to cheat like City or Chelsea in the past to win titles?

Was there even a cartel? How many years did take for Liverpool to win the title again? How long has it been since Man Utd or Arsenal won the title?

The only cartel I see is one created by Man City's cheating!

Emery is just great at picking on your weaknesses, especially in one-offs. Rice playing DM, Havertz in no.8 and Jesus leading the line both times we played them.

I didn't mind Emery but it annoys me when fans say that he would've won us the PL or CL if he was supported like Arteta. it still annoys me what he did in Europa and the last few games of that season when we bottled top 4.

This is just copium. We ran a good race. We fought a good fight. We lost. We try to get stronger and we go again. Cringing hard at all these "115" copium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you mean by that? I think most Arsenal fans knew it was over after the Spurs game. I don't think it's cringe at all to talk about the charges. They have built a juggernaut from cheating. The Premier League have charged City. Arsenal fans are not making it up.

And it's not Arsenal fans alone who are complaining. Most fans in this country are and its not because City are winning. Its because people are fair minded and abore corruption in this country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The built a juggernaut by spending money to join the cartel of big 4/5 clubs who perpetuated themselves at the top for donkey years. Whether some new technicality now classes this as "cheating", you're fooling yourself if you think "most fans in this country" care about this. YOU wouldn't even give a flying fack about it if it wasn't Arsenal they pipped to the title this season. You didn't care when it was Liverpool or Man U they were beating to the title. You only care now cos it's now your team getting close and losing to them.

So just admit it for what it is: all the whole "115" comments are just coping mechanisms for that sore feeling of defeat. And maybe stop pretending like you have more altruistic motives. We're not kids here and none of us are fooled.

Never heard a fan say this. But Emery was treated more harshly than Arteta for sure. He inherited a big mess and didn't get to sign players he wanted.

20 years ago Abramovich rode into town and torpedoed Arsenal’s financial strategy (every other top 4 club too).

City then did the same thing, on an industrial level, yet still, apparently, felt the need the break financial rules to achieve success.

You claiming anyone mentioning the 115 charges is just ‘copium’ because they beat us to the title is ridiculous.

Unless you think what Abramovich did 20 years ago was okay.

For many, many years I was conned by the FFP arguments against teams like Chelsea and City. It was Martin Samuel's many articles in the Daily Mail on FFP as a protection racket for the big boys that persuaded me it was all just self-deluded, self-serving preening and moralizing from fans of the big clubs who were enjoying the status quo before the sugar daddy clubs crashed their party.

If you can show me evidence of Arsenal fans making the same comments when City were pipping Liverpool or Man U to the title in previous seasons, I'll happily admit it's not copium. Given that I've been here all that time and even saw many of us (myself included) revelling in City dashing the dreams of the annoying fans of those big boys, yes it's certainly just copium. Transparent sore loser stuff.

The big 4 of the early to mid 2000's elevating themselves over the rest of the competition would certainly have made me happier, but I can also see the perspective of a club like Man City with a much smaller structure and fanbase who had no hope in hell of ever competing at the top, no matter how well managed they are, without the cash injection from the sugar daddies.

It's all pointless for the simple reason that European football is not inherently fair. It's the few haves against the many have nots in the pyramid. And the haves cannot be lecturing anyone else about fairness given all their privileges.

I wonder why some rival fans don't rate Saka very highly. Fair few aren't even selecting him in England's best 11 for the Euros.

To wind people up. Pretty standard stuff, not like anybody we know would bite or get WOUND UP about it………….

Dude, just look at comments from rival supporters since yesterday. No one cares City won the title, fourth time in a row or whatever. It isn’t just Arsenal fans that know the score.

As CEG said earlier, the irony is this mentality actually helps City achieve success.

Every team in the league is in the race or has no chance at at least one stage of the season when it comes to fickle Fiddy

The 115 charges comment could have been from a fan of any team, not just an Arsenal fan. It’s hardly copium to bring it up. Does it have any impact on what happened on the pitch this season, no, but it still massively questions the integrity of the PL having those charges over their head, even City fans admit that.

That has nothing to do with thier "115 charges" though. Arsenal have more bitter rivals than City, so there'd be more gloating at Arsenal's loss than City's win. When City were winning over Liverpool, I was a lot more fixated with the delicious disappointment of the Liverpool fans and didn't care much about City. Infact, my only comfort in many years of Arsenal's mediocrity has been City denying Spurs, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool titles.

posted on 20/5/24

Isn’t that kinda the point though? That no one really hates City, because everyone thinks of them as an artificial entity?

A lot of Arteta out fans say this. If you can't see the why the board was more lenient on Arteta a rookie manager than Emery then I can't help you.

If Emery was at a club like Chelsea he would've been sacked after the 1st season's failure, but Arsenal are not like that. He got sacked eventually because he lost the dressing room, the results and style of play was atrocious, journalists say the atmosphere at the training ground was awful. Emery is just not a big club manager
