Liz Truss dumped is my personal highlight, hopefully she disappears now from public view but somehow I doubt it. Cant stand that little rat
Truss single hand destroyed the main shtick of the Tories for the last 15 years - handling the economy. Labour should thank her.
She facked up massively but she didn't ruin the Tories reputation on economy on her own
She pretty much did. Inflation is from Covid and Russia. Her mess meant that inflation lasted longer. Sunak has managed to bring back to normal levels, but he won't get credit for it. Labour are at least going to inherit stability.
In fact, inflation and age are the only reasons why Biden isn't 10 points ahead in the polls. I don't think he will get credit for reducing it, either. Dems are lucky they are dealing with Trump and not a charismatic leader that they are still this close.

Correct, was a huge part of it though. Just on a personal level I can't stand her, same as Cruella and Rees-Mogg, just the worst example of politicians.
Sunak did fack all positive on the economy, wasted his time on things like small boats and hairy brained schemes like national service (which would be awful for the economy)
Truss made him look competent because of how awful she was but the last 14 years have seen the country stagnate
From Austerity to Brexit to Truss the Tories have facked their reputation on the economy, you can't just blame it on a mad few weeks
If Austerity was such an issue, why didn't Labour increase their vote share over Corbyn?
Labour secured just over 700,000 more votes than Mr Corbyn in 2019, one percentage point more, but managed to pick up more than 200 additional seats.
Labour did increase their vote share under Corbyn but he was just unelectable to too many people and both his GEs were skewed by Brexit
Im also saying it's now undeniable that austerity was a poor policy that was bad for the economy, I'm not talking about how it was received at the time
Austerity and Brexit to this day are still 50/50 ish in terms of support.
Truss's mini budget caused absolute chaos though, 99% agree.
But yeah not sure of anything particuarly good Sunak did, the Rwanda scheme in particuarly is absolutely ludicrous I can't believe they kept pushing that. Would have genuinely got more support proposing to BUILD THE WALL
I hope Labour don't learn the wrong lesson. Cameron bent over backwards for UKIP even risking leaving the EU. The conservatives finally accepted they were not a nutter party of the extreme right and dumped Boris and Truss. Brought in some stability and separated from the UKIP wing. This with the acceptance of what was going to happen!
Starmer is not ending austerity, m8. If he increases borrowing, interest rates will stay high.
Spain to beat Germany and Portugal to nick it against France? Ronaldo should, but won't, be on the bench and you'd you fancy those 5/6 midfielders of Portugal to control it.
Portugal were lucky beating Slovenia. France will win that imo.

They'll be fiscally conservative as long as they need to be, unlike in 2010 when we could, the country can't borrow it's way out of this hole

UK were spending billions on QE to keep interest rates low in 2010. They could have spent that on services but house prices would have crashed aand more banks would have gone under. A policy that continued for way too long, super inflating assets. That bubble still hasn't been deflated btw. And that is the choice Labour has to take imo.

Maybe, they have been very average though. Havent even scored a goal from open play, have they?

Not like they haven't had majority of the play. Teams sit back aggainst them cause of their pace. They don't concede either so let in one goal and its pretty much over.

They have, but both went down as own goals (Austrian one was, the Kolo Randall Sanogo effort was harsh to call it an OG).
France have been very good defensively, but you have to expect that with the cloggers and runners he has in midfield. Mbappe has been awful, the broken nose and mask must be bothering him. Griezmann has had moments but Thuram and Dembele have also been poor.
