I have english commentary on and they hardly talk about the incident in the Liverpool game. They saw no comparison to the Salibas situation.

Mike Dean straightaway said the ball was going too wide (was right in Jotas path) and Colwill was covering (was 5 yards behind and would have been further without the holding).

Oh, and pretty sure they said distance was too great.

And the deliberate delaying of the free kick?

I thought VAR was only meant to intervene in clear and obvious mistakes? The reaction of the MotD commentator last night showed the initial Saliba call was neither clear not obviously incorrect.

But we had the bad luck that Howard Webb was in the stands to tell the officials to turn the decision into a red card for Saliba.
