Do we go with Rice against Chelsea, or hold him back from international duty. I've been told many a time on here that Partey is our best midfielder and Rice has been poor all season. Why not try Partey, Merino, Odegaard and give Rice 3 weeks of real recovery time?
posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago
The question is did we stink against Newcastle because Rice couldn't play the ball into midfield (like England) or was it because Merino couldn't press for chit.
I suppose we'll find out tomorrow, and Arteta will pick a team for Chelsea accordingly. Convenient injury to test out the hypothesis.

Merino would be the one benched if anyone is.
Rice has been good.

Merino ain't injured tho.

Personally id go back to Rice and Partey until Merino is more up to speed then ease him in

So we play Partey/Rice for as long as it needs for Merino to catchup. If he doesn't then blame it on Edu for a shocking signing.

One positive on Odegaards return is going back to 4-1-4-1. Which also means Jorginho is a factor again for minor cups.

he'll be back for Chelsea, you must be happy Odegaard is back

Not expecting an immediate impact but it will be nice to have a player that can actually play a forward pass

The more i think about the Edu situation the more i think theres more to it. Timing too convenient

How longs Ode been out for? 2 months? And only just back in training? Not sure if he'll start vs Chelsea

A lot will depend on who we replace Edu with.
Usual suspects - Zorc, Rolfes, Ragnik,
My personal choice - Txiki if KSE want to be serious.
But there is Michael Edwards as well.

I think only to agree working with him. Can't see Kroenke going down the same route as Wenger which was at least somewhat justifiable by what he won.
