I don't agree with his asking price. How can you value him around £55m if you don't rate him enough to start him every game? It's not like he has a successful history.

I suppose thats what buyers have to assess: whether his form was due to his injury or a dip in his development.

Ben White played through an injury, as we are now finding out was more serious than first let on and no one could tell. Thats a top quality player.

His form was good though You need to separate the individual from the team.

I am not someone who watches Palace a lot so 🤷

Saw him against Liverpool/Man Utd and he was chit. Subbed by Hughes vs Liverpool (as I remember) who did so much better and brought Palace back into the game.

But I still think he is worth c£35m < £40m for the risk that his development is not a straight line.

If Rice’s long term position at Arsenal is as an 8 then we need to break the bank on an elite midfielder. Caicedo seems to have found his old form at Chelsea. Hopefully they get done by FFP and sell him to us
