They lost control in (midfield) for 20 mins that cost them the game. They never had control at any time. Calming the game down and recycling the ball is not natural to Palmer. So why point to his teammates?

Nah. I hate Foden. I like Palmer. He reminds me a lot of Pires. But he isn't the best player in England. So many better than him. And he isn't the best English player either.

Jackson made a really good run and he decided to keep the ball and slow it down, he did that a few times, I'm not sure if it was a specific instruction from the manager though

His interview sounded like he was aiming at others. It wasn't 'I should have controlled the play better'. In fact he doesn't really control play or chase back so....

It would be very weird if one player thought he could have controlled the game on his own. As Peebs says, it is just what players and managers say after such things.

Even Hasselbaink took him to task immediately afterwards making the point about recycling play and slowing down the tempo. If you were to listen or read his comments it sounds generic but I don't think it was.
