neither him nor messi have won the WC yet, nor have they either carried there team through a tournament or been the star in a team that could be regarded as the greatest

That mixed with the fact that they both play in the same league at the same time; i think that right now they are on par with the Cruyf and De stefano's

A level below Pele and Maradona

In my lifetime both are the best I've seen. But I would still watch Ronaldinho and Ronaldo 9 at their peak over anyone else.

How can both be the best?

Messi-for his dribbling, touch and vision. Ronaldo for this physicality, long shots & power. Finishing wise both as good as each other.

If you had a choice of one to sign for Arsenal, who would you pick?

Messi. What about you?

Dog's being well naughty, im trying to watch carry on spying and he keeps barking at poor bernard cribbins!

I'd rather have Messi than Ronaldo but thats not based on ability

Ronny for sure.

I just think you can't better what he has ability wise.

Yes Messi is an INCREDIBLE player, but Ronaldo is footballing skill at it's core - pace, power, shooting. Would dominate any league, any team on earth.

Depends on what you want. For Arsenal, either Messi or Ronaldo would fit right in, due to our style.

Ronaldo would fit in anywhere I think. Arsenal, Stoke or Hemel Hempstead, he'd do what he does. Any player needs service but that's a different matter.

I just imagine Messi playing for say United, and wonder exactly how effective he would be.

Best player in the league? 100%

As good as he is for Barca? Nah.

posted on 20/11/13

Guess we'll never find out since he wants to stay in Barcelona by looks of it. Surely he must get bored of being at Barcelona by now having won everything with the best team ever? He must think he wants a challenge to play in a lesser team.

posted on 20/11/13

Nah.

If they won the league and CL every season for 5 seasons, then maybe he'd get a little bored.

But he's won it what, 3 times in 9 years? Cracking record, but hardly something to get bored of.

Personally hope he plays in England. Would be amazing. Also I think with Argentina he has a chance of winning the World Cup. Their attacking potential is better than any.

Ronaldo all day.

For some reason the Argies just can't seem to utilize their incredible attacking players and get the best out of them.

I have a feeling Portugal will do very well at this WC.

Portugal always do good in tournaments. It's a myth they don't do well. Their team is well organised despite not having any world class player except Ronaldo; they can beat anyone on their day.

They have Helder Postiga as well. Legend

They still have some brilliant players. Too much emphasis is put on being world class these days.

When is Podolski back?

Ikslodop. Weird question.

Oh, "when", not "what".
