With all the upheavals at 'rival' clubs last summer, I think it's genuinely difficult to state a case as to whether we've progressed this season or not.

Even if we win the FA Cup.

He needs a massive slap. He said at start of season Pelligrini is better than Mourinho. Was on some hype to jump on the hippie bandwagon.

Is 'progression' just an Ace Card as such?

I don't think it is. I don't think it's enough to "just" progress, from season A to season B.

Plenty of times over the past seasons we think we have made big steps, and Wenger has said this, and yet the following season we just fall back again.

Definitely was the perfect season to win it. City and Chelsea new managers no fergie Wenger bottled it.

We have progressed, but probably not as much as what fans were expecting. People thought that since we don't have the burden of the stadium, we will go back and win the league.

I've been more disappointed in this season than any of the past few years.

Almost stopped caring about the league at the moment

Weird to think that even though we're in the Cup Final, I stopped caring about the season... probably after the Stoke game...

It's all about perspective though I guess.

I mean, even though I didn't really expect us to win the league, we WERE up there for a long, long time.

Had we started the season slowly and were now edging towards the top 4 with the Final to come I'd probably be really excited.

As I see it, the problems we have this season can easily be rectified. However, because of the nature of our manager, the problem is magnified because he fails to acknowledge a problem exists in the first place.

I always have (and will) maintain that our Injuries are not a result of bad luck but a direct result of the mismanagement of players recovery and rehabilitation. When you play a select group of individuals over and above what they can physically endure, you will eventually encounter problems. Ozil apparently never had a muscular injury before joining Arsenal. Yet lo and behold, after being overplayed (even including an FA Cup game vs Coventry for the whole 90 mins, which I find incredible). The injury to Ramsey was also inevitable. As was Walcott’s injury, who apparently played an insane amount of games in a short period of time, despite only returning from a long layoff.

In an all ready tight squad, these issues can decide who stays on top, and who eventually goes out with a whimper due to fatigue in the whole squad.

January transfer window cost us the league.
Having Walcott and Ramey out for long term and not replacing them was just mental!!

We have progressed
.................
From 4th to..........?

Yeah if you look at the table...you are right. You shouldnt though and judge the whole season and performances. If we weren't unlucky with these kind of injuries which is a serious issue why we cant make "progress" visible at the moment.
