Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is targeting a return to management - with a club competing in the Champions League.

The 51-year-old ex-Everton boss was dismissed after 10 months at Old Trafford and revealed he has already turned down two offers.

"I got my first real taste of the Champions League this year," Moyes tells the Guardian. "I thought I showed I can manage at that level as well."

Stuart Pearce does not believe that Ross Barkley should have been included in England's World Cup squad.

The former England Under-21 boss feels young players such as Barkley and Luke Shaw would be better suited to having guaranteed game time in international age-group football, rather than being on the bench in Brazil.

Pearce told the Guardian: "The culmination of minutes that Ross has played this season for the senior team is less than 90 minutes. Does that mean he's had great experience sitting in the stands or does it mean he's missed six or seven Under-21 qualifiers and the experience of international football? I know where I would have left him."
