Because Remy would have been the only striker that would have been 2nd to Giroud. Any other striker would been an upgrade.

Honestly think this is the season when Walcott gets his chance as a striker.

Funny looking back at how many Gooners were against us signing Benzema, mainly because he would 'cost too much'.

To rely on a player coming back from a serious injury, and to put that pressure on him would be terrible management.

Hope they're fúcking happy with how it turned out.

If we could look back at this place at the end of last season, probably only about 10% truly believed Giroud would still be our first choice striker.....

As for the defence, Wenger is playing his cards as close to his chest as possible.

In other words, we know we need signings, HE knows we need signings, EVERYBODY ELSE knows we need signings, but he's hardly going to admit it to the press, is he?

Look at Man U for example. How many players are reported to have turned them down this summer? Even if you discount 50% of them as press fabrication it's a lot for a club of their standing.
