Wish Lamps had left the England setup years ago. Doesn't get any appeciation from the so called "fans", always the scapegoat despite hardly being the worst performer- cough*Gerrard, Rooney*cough

Tbh Lampard or Gerrard never fullfield their potential for England like they did for their clubs.

Only players that have replicated their club form to international are Ashley Cole, Beckham, Terry, Rio and in the early yrs Rooney, who now is just a waste in the national set up IMO.

I find the last bit hilarious, they think Jones is a better player then Smalling and deserves a chance ahead of Smalling, even though Smalling has proved that he is actually a very good defender.

Personally I've always been a club over country fan, never got the Lampard - Gerrard debate, all I know is that we have been fortunate to have the most prolific midfielder in the history of the Prem. If he never plays for England again and still manages 10+ goals for next few years I'll be happy.....

As for the Mail, with the exception of the excellent Martin Samuel it's utter biased vomit. Can't even look at Matt Lawton's smug profile picture....

Gerrard and Lampard = Not fit to lace Scholes' boots.
England have had some deluded managers who shoved Paul to the left to accommodate those useless players stated above.
Seriously any other national team would have had Scholes ahead of those two 99 out of 100 times.

I don't believe I mentioned Scholes did I? As I said in previous comment I've never really cared what Lampard did in an England shirt as long as he produced in blue.....

I know it's hard to come to terms with Red Indian but Scholes is gone now but make sure you keep the candles at his shrine burning strong.

Funny that most of the stick over the last 4-6 years or so has been aimed at Gerrard, Lampard and Crouch
- who incidentally are the 3 highest scorers

Best news I´ve heard all day if it´s true.

I´ve been wanting Lampard to either take a back seat or preferably retire from the England circus for years.

Great news because he´ll be able to prolong his Chelsea career by a year or two.

Also the mindless England fans will have to find another scapegoat for England´s failings.
