Yes. let's hope we can get a result on Tuesday at MK Dons.
Lundstram and Husband not only look unnervingly similar - at least from the stands - but they are both playing brilliantly (Husband shaded MoM) and the team looks like a well tuned limousine instead of the shaky banger were were looking at a couple of weeks ago. Most entertaining afternoon. Also so good to have Duracell Hume back.
It is usually hard to enjoy a game throughout its duration when watching your own team due to being nervous.
Today i thoroughly enjoyed the game from start to finish.
The Rovers looked like and played like a side at the top of the league.
Hartlepool were well organised but didnt offer much of a threat, two long range shots in the first half - both off target -and a couple of headers in the second half - both off target -were all they could offer.
Our creative play was great after the first twenty minutes or so and we always looked like we would score and go on to win the game.
I am liking Husband more and more in his forward role (not bad for a young un) and find it hard to single out anyone as star man in a fine all round team performance.
All three goals were very well taken and in a curious kind of way i was happy with the 3-0 scoreline (see the DPL)
Three very good performances in a row now so the signs are very good as we get into the last few matches.
Now if only Copps could get seven more goals before the end of the season.......................................................
Hi Hound my mobile almost went into meltdown.
I think some where dialing before the ball crossed the line.I assume no debate then, the ball did cross the line and there were no deflections involved .Well done Rovers B-
I am sorry to have to tell you Lanza that it was a very good piece of control and left foot (yes - left foot) shot accross the keeper into the far corner of the net.
NO DEFLECTIONS INVOLVED.
Somebody told me that Copps had a fantastic game and scored a goal!
I don't know how true that is, can you confirm that Lanza?
Did anyone see some of the other pitches in the Country on Sky Sports News? I mention this as Bloomfield Rd Blackpool is very bad as are several others. They to have been affected by the bad weather and not by having Rugbyu of either code played on them.
I agree NewYankee Rugbyu has never caused bad marks on a soccer pitch but is often a cause of bad marks in a spelling Bee
Not the rugby thing again! I've played plenty of games and never seen so much as a raised divot afterwards. Except when they don't use kicking tees.
Can't see me managing to get a thread up for Tuesday - I have two matches between now and then!
Not so much that Fuzzy, but more an acceptance that once again they have had bad weather in the UK which has caused MOST pitches to be in poor condition, mainly due to excessive water, whether from excessive rain or melting snow. The Uk has had somee extreme weather patterns over the last few years.
Unfortunately, until the new owners of the Keepmoat put their hands in their pckets and do something about it, it will continue to be poor during such bad weather.
It is annoying to keep hearing other managers complaining they lost because of the state of the pitch, they lost because we were better than they were.
I was trrying to put to rest the Rugby thing as both sports HAVE to live together. They are, now more than ever joined at the wallet and everyone needs to pull together.
Kicking Tees?? They are for epople who cannot make a slight mound, go round in circles, then place the ball with any shape of aerodynamics and get it between the posts, well I could do all that on either side of the posts and infront and 9 out of 10 went between the sticks, now kicking tees, allowances for wind (poor souls) etc...That is what money does, it removed the skill
WTF!My teletext is stuck! It says Donny are top!
I knew the subject of kicking tees would be slightly inflammatory with some!
I really don't think rugby being played on the KM pitch can be blamed for the state of the pitch after all wasn't rugby played at Bellevue as well
Rugby League was played at Belle Vue but as I have said in a previous thread, it's the make-up of the pitch that is the real problem and remains a nightmare for the groundstaff to maintain.
Exactly, roversmarc, the pitch SHOULD be able to stand both sports, but as it has been produced from the word go the drainage is poor, the stands block out a lot of light and the bad weather necessitating the use of covers has stopped the grass growth.
Put all those factors together and you have a recipe for disaster, and guess what? The pitch is a disaster.
