hELLo Owls forever. . . . . I used to travel on the Inter City Owl but got fed up of the hours of unnecessary travelling time wasted being herded about by the police in various towns.

Coaches to Bournemouth leave at 8 am which is 7 hours before kickoff. If you go by car (which I appreciate may not be an option) you could be there in 4 hours (depending on roadworks etc). Plus when you are coming home you get back in time for a . My preferred driver puts her foot down and we just sail home .

The cost of a coach ticket for an adult is £28 which is £8 more than an adults' match ticket. I don't know how much a train ticket is.

Given a choice, I would always go by car and share petrol expenses. You can go when you want, park up and get something to eat and a drink and get home quicker after the match.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately don't have the car option and train is around 65 quid. Bit of a dilemma.

The lass is in Tenerife at the moment but confirms just over 4 hours - most direct route, M1, M40, M3, M27. We don't live within Sheffield boundary nearest motorway junction is M18 junction 1 and M1 junction 31. We very rarely stop on the way back - bladders of iron us lasses - the guys are usually asleep .

Owls forever - in that case looks like the ICO is the only option. Depends on your age I suppose - I'm getting on a bit now and want to get there and back as quick as possible, but when I was younger going on the train (in the 70's) and the ICO was a bit of an adventure and quite good fun if you go with your mates. Don't let me put you off - it served it's purpose for me back then.

Yes especially the 'pop' - you can hide your voddy in the lemonade or your bacardi in the coke. That's what used to get me - no alcohol allowed on the coach. I think I once went two years of travelling to selected away games and never saw a win - I mean . . . the booze is necessity. You just have to be a bit creative with the containers.

That's another reason to be a passenger in a car - alcohol allowed.

Owls Forever, it's certainly an option mate, you can book your ticket through the ticket office(you need to do this in advance of the journey) and you know you'll get there safe and sound. It depends on what you want out of a trip as it's a very sedate atmosphere on there. Nothing wrong with that at all, but if you fancy a jar and a bit more of an atmosphere then the car, or if you know a friend of a friend and can get a coach going from an ale house then that's even better.

4 hours to Bournemouth from Sheffield, that's more than do able, I've done quite a few courses down there and i've done it in 4 hours on a saturday before, 3:30 when travelling at night!
