Ivan, on what do you base you saying that:
"This is the opportunity we've needed for decades."?

If you are on about closing the gap to the league winners then it's a fail.
If you are on about the standard of football improving then it's a fail.
We do need more equality in the game, Ivan. This season was the 1st chance to do something about the voting structure yet Aberdeen voted to retain the status quo...unbelievable decision from them!

Nimmo - obviously this isn't going to be an overnight improvement. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that. What we needed was an opportunity to restructure our game through voting rights, distribution of wealth, league size and, in an ideal world, pricing structure to create a much healthier environment that will encourage people to start going again - thousands of fans across the country have walked away from the game over the last 10 years.
As for the "chocolate gladiators", I don't really see how you can criticise the ones who go and buy season tickets. It was those people who threatened to stop going - it wasn't the promise of returning fans that forced the chairmens hands, it was the threat of the existing fans walking away that made them do the right thing.
It sounds a bit like Rangers fans are rewriting history here.
There will be loads tuning into the Dundee Derby. Of that I'm sure Ivan
Love Rangers to get back ASAP.
Oooft!..Think of the initial wallopings we'd inflict upon their wounded carcass...
Good to see that the old traditional uppity-GIRFUY attitude hasn't been a victim of the oldco-newco changeover though.
I'd say, if Rangers can ease back on the 'ourselves alone' () rhetoric, demonstrate to the rest of us that they are open to change and are willing to bend to our will....Then...Let them back!
And from a myopic Tims perspective, what harm will they really do to Celtics inevitable march to a record breaking 10IAR?
willing to bend to our will..
Sorry Hector, but can't take any of your drivel seriously after you said that the Rangers / Celtic situation over the past few years had caused more trouble than the murders and bombings in Northern Ireland

Nimmo - according to the Dee's, the first Dundee Derby had the second highest viewing ratings for a Scottish match outside the Old Firm matches.
On that note - I'm off to the game. Have a good day chaps.
IMO these past few seasons have been even more vitriolic and divisive than than the early 80's with it's background noise of hunger-strikes and SAS death squads.

but lets be clear, we dont want shoe horned back into the SPL. We're quite happy where we are:
- Re-building our team
- rebuilding our reputation
- rebuilding our finances
- filling our stadium and every one we visit
- progressing through the divisions
- developing youngsters along the way
It's a 3 year plan back to the top. Back there'll well get. And with a fine bill of health with a vibrant, young experienced and talented squad produced from Murray Park.
That'll do us. We neither need anyone's help nor do we want special favors. We're coming along nicely as it is
