MOTD2 showed Walcott had made several decent runs to break the back line. But their MF did not see them.

I think they were made to be quite difficult due to how compact our defence was though

Basically the guy is saying that for similar tactics, Spurs spotted and worked their opportunities far better.

In summary, yes, despite arsenal having more possession, we were more clinical

If you look at the clips of Walcott on MOTD, I think 3 out of the 4 or 5 he was a yard offside. Spurs' line was doing a great job of pushing up as a unit, communicating brilliantly and his runs were largely nullified. Plus so much pressure on the passer of the ball means liitle time to look up and pick your pass.

its a very dangerous tactic, minute movements, loss of concentration, and it fails, this high line definitely only works with Loris in goal

The tactics work with an aware/drilled back four. Period,
For the times that the line is breached, speedy players (Kaboul, Walker etc) helps in recovery.

Adding a rush goalie like Lloris to the mix adds even more security.

With lapses in concentration, and slower combos (Verty and Caulker at Leeds etc) , you can see the folly. I am happy for AVB to use the scheme as long as it does not become dogma (played whoever the back four is) .
