Why isn't Glen Mcgrath blurting his usual 5-0 rubbish?
That is a camp that has clearly lost the plot. Dropping there best pace bowler and 2nd most experienced batsman in Watson over nothing.
Maybe they wanted the old pills back to enhance their performance
Ex-captain Allan Border told Fox Sports News: "I'm surprised that's the penalty for something so mundane. It seems like it was on a schoolboy tour or something. It's an over the top reaction."
Mark Waugh added: "I've never heard anything so stupid in all my life. It's not under-sixes - this is Test cricket."
some of them were subs for their games.
Shambles!!

Ohhh dear, dear dear dear - the aussies are all over the shop.... Just as soon as they're off the pills, they go into disarray. I think the ICC should allow them to snort again.
As one of the contributors on here would say, you gotta laugh
Australia - the laughing stock of world cricket.
lool i dont do homework in uni, and the lecturers can do jack.
i guess arthur wasnt able to do his job so gave it the players
i wonder how CA allowed this.
You could not make it up...
Thing is the rest of the squad clearly bought into the concept and responded.
Makes you think if this was designed to weed out bad eggs, or to expose a schism in the dressing room.
Just to add a bit of context to this. After india went 2-0 up, the coach asked all the aussie players to go have a think about 3 areas of the game and give a presentation on ONE idea on all 3 aspects:
1) Idea on how to IMPROVE OWN PERFORMANCE
2) Idea on how to IMPROVE TEAM PERFORMANCE
3) Idea on how to IMPROVE THE CULTURE OF AUSS CRICKET
2/4 players (Usman and Johnson) didn’t even make the damn team for the two tests, so WTF are they suppose to say about their own performance on the tour? And to improve the team, they’ll just say “pick me”.
This whole thing is a farce. Now Watson is considering retiring from the game and has flown back home. Please hurry up with that Pakistani spinners visa passport application so we can have more laughs

There is more to this than what meets the eye. Clarke is no fool, neither Aurther. Watson being the VC of the team, needs to take more responsibility. Not ignore coach calls. And not run away by threatening retirement. He is not leadership material any way. Too hot headed. Like Symonds he will fade into sunset.
As many think (here), it is not about contribution but rather about discipline. Clarke didn't do any favors to himself by doing this, he only made it difficult for himself to avoid a wash. Clarke is the best leader out there by a distance. I for one appreciate his guts for calling these shots. Only time will tell if he's been right.
It is far too easy to make smileys as Neon pointed out.
Neon, goodness don't be too selective will ya. Rahul sharma a few days ago? Boo.
Voice, if there are more reasons then that's fine, but there is currently no evidence for that. To ban players because they didnt turn up to a presentation (a meaningless one at that!) is just laughable.
Watson is now considering his test future, I think the ECB should consider reducing the ashes to a 3 test series as it might get embarrassing!

Suggests to me, they know the series is all but over so picked a time to make a statement.
It is an overreaction but we don't know the facts. For obe, Johnson has had tonnes if chances so should be doing everything to stay onside. Watson VC and injury prone - Again, Australia have shown loyalty. Pattinson and Khawaja new so should be following orders.
If management warned them of the consequebces, they gave only themselves to blame.
After the sacking-gate drama, everyone will expect Australia to lose badly. But I think Australia will do well in Mohali. Watson’s replacement Smith (most likely) will do better. He knows pitches well as he spent lot of time here, thanks to IPL. Haddin was always good against spin. Clarke moving up the order will help the batting with Haddin below to consolidate if things don’t work out. The only person to be missed would be Pattinson. But again this guy needs a rest after every other test match any way. Perhaps Indians might down their guard due to this drama. In any case it will be very close fought match.
This is Clarke trying to act like a big man, someone needs to slap him up and I think that will be done when he ends up losing both Ashes series.
Just don't see for one minute how this will help the Australian's get back on track, very drastic indeed. Certainly not something I'd associate with Australian cricket, the mentality seems to have shifted from how they've always went about their cricket.
Could you for one minute imagine Marsh, Chappell, Lillee and co slipping notes under a door? They'd tell you where to go and go on the field of play to prove a point.
Times and attitudes change but I can't see this going down too well over there.
They'll probably get lamped in the next Test and the heat will be on. Very odd move.
Cannot believe James Pattinson has been dropped.
He has been the one shining light for Australia during this disastrous tour for Australia.
Unless they play on one of the worst & lifeless test cricket pitch in Nagpur - it will be 4-0 india.
This is frankly insane, dropping Pattinson is completely nuts.
I have to laugh at some of the reactions, England fans, don't forget you were the laughing stock for 2 decades before you recruited a couple of Saffers and played semi decent cricket for a couple of years. Franky, you're still not that good. Better than us however, I'll give you that.
Pakistan fans crowing about drug use? I have heard it all now.
Duncan, you do sound bitter.
We got ripped many a year by Aussies during my childhood in the 90's.
Joking aside, it may be the final straw. You have some promising coaches - Langer, Lehmann, Dizzy.
If Watson retires, that has to be your weakest batting line up for years!
Also, aren't you scraping the barrel for sone Pakistani spinner at the moment?
