"We all know it’s going to be hard, but we need a bit of depth to the side and if we can get that, which I think [Mick McCarthy] will do, we’ll have a good go." - Steve Bull August 2009
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was precisely Wolves' problem. They never got the required depth to their side.
We've got until August 2014 to win it then.
No problem.
There is a strong likelihood that we will be winning a lot more silverware than you in the next three years.
Unless there is a medal for being a mediocre premier league team every season?
LDV Vans Trophy, Johnstone Paints Trophy, Wolverhampton and District Sunday Methodist Blow Football Trophy - all will be yours in years to come.
Pundit there's no Conference Cup anymore
Yes, obvious retort gentleman, one bereft of thought.
I would rather win League 1, Johnson's Paint, Championship, Play-off finals than be mediocre in the prawn sandwich league for the next 5 years.
We are only in it for the money, pundit.
Lots and lots of luvvery MONEY....yummy, yummy.
More money than Wolves could dream of......
I would rather win League 1, Johnson's Paint, Championship, Play-off finals than be mediocre in the prawn sandwich league for the next 5 years.

Just about the only prediction you might be right about.....
Barnsley and Peterborough winning. Lovely stuff!
There will be 20 premier clubs all getting the same money tidy.
And it won't be enough to compete with Man Utd, City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool or Everton.
You are pawns to the big boys and will only exist to make even numbers for weekend fixtures.
Your highlights will be victories over Norwich and the Sunderlands of the league. Even a victory over the top 7 teams will be one offs as you're ten points off contention every season.
If that's what we're missing, with that boredom, I'd rather be eating my pie at real football league grounds around the country with a real atmosphere, rather than a corporate event managed by your prudent owners.
.................despite Wolves building a HUGE new stand with plans to build a HUGE new stadium to do exactly what you have just told me you DON'T want to do.....
Di_dums Punydick
So easy to say you would rather win mickey mouse cups when your team is on the slide,
If you would much rather pick up those of trophies than be in with the elite of England then you are as much as a joke as your Football team .
Peterborough and Barnsley both winning, my day just gets better and better....
No, not really a joke, just falling out of love with corporate footballers who dive around a pitch on ridiculous salaries.
I didn't enjoy the premier league for the two seasons we stayed up. The championship suits my football philosophy. A proper tough league where the football reflects the English style I grew up with. Rather than the continental guff your lot spew out, where English players don't score.
Good job you're a wolf then eh Pundit?
I do wonder if you would be saying the same if Wolves were in our position? Would you be wumming your little heart out if the shoe was on the other paw?
We'll never know. Never ever.
Granted, I certainly don't want to be slumming it where we are now, don't get me wrong.
Lobster, I'd love to be fighting it out with the elite of England....but then again....so would Albion, rather than hoping for seasons of mediocrity and no silverware. History remembers the winners.
'England's elite'
That we are
There are 35 places between West Bromwich Albion and Wo1vo Wanderer5.
Why are we even conversing with filth so far beneath us?

Because Sandwell town centre is boarded up, you've been for your giros and now you have a free week.
Admin, does he get a cash prize for that? He needs slot money for gala tomorrow.
