his stats are decent and you were all happy to throw his stats from last year around.

He's poor though for a guy his size he doesn't do much a big lad should do well.

Well J99 I talked about to subb Giroud for Walcott. Its obvious that Wenger sees somthing in Giroud.
-------------------------------

If we had another striker Wenger would have taken him off. But we don't. So I don't see how your constant attempts at deflecting blame of Giroud to Walcott makes any difference.

Wenger singled out Giroud's lack of a square pass to Cazorla for a chance on the open goal. He also mentioned Gervinho's miss. So I would be so quick to judge Wenger's opinion so quickly.

If you have been following Arsenal for a while I am sure you are aware that when Wenger singles out misses is not a good sign. Bendtner and Chamakh have had that in the past!

Who would you like to see Arsenal sign on the summer as first choice striker?

now do you understand why i said playing for pride was important?

No GT, you are making assumptions based on nothing. If we lose 2-1 what makes you think Bayern would have played with the same attitude, or that we would have? You haven't a clue so don't make comments based on speculation.

Also I don't see how it is relevant to the topic. If we had a top striker playing tonight in Munich maybe we would have won by more than 2.

Well I made an assumption in your view which isnt right to do. You made an assumption too in saying that if we only lost only 2-1 at home Bayern would have played with another approach.

So I said that if we were more solid at the back we could have gone through and even get at least a point at WHL. So your speculation is more valuable than mine.

Mmmhhh....makes me slightly chuckle.

Jovetic
Osvaldo
Negredo
Possibly Aubameyang

Off the top of my head...

Samir would also you keep all 3 of giroud, Podolski and Gerv?

Giroud? Yes. Despite his poor performances, he's scored some important goals and this is only his first season in English football.

Podolski? Yes. Influential player for us despite being played in his less favored position.

Gervinho? Seriously, did you really just ask me that?

Wow I didn't speculate on anything. I said that I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN SO IT WOULD BE POINTLESS TO SPECULATE. Read my comment next time.

I though youd say somethign like that, Giroud's been poor IMO but he's still scored 15 goals in a debut season that's a decent return. Gervinho is awful though.

I would keep Giroud next season as a bench player. We need a top class striker up front like a Jovetic or an El Shaaraway or if we want to go for the cheaper option a David Villa.

Players that create something out of nothing and score when it matters.

El Shaaraway did very well yesterday

Batmoanu and GT...
In conclusion, we need better defense (including keeper) and better forwards.

One poor game doesn't make a player bad just like one good game doesn't make him a world beater, unless you're and Arsenal goalkeeper that is

You are talking to GT here, his hero Giroud will have 1 good game in 15 and be the best striker in the world but every other striker with an ounce of talent who puts in 1 poor performance in 15 is automatically not good enough.

As handsome as Giroud

--------------------------
No I did. Walcott did not have a good game after the first half when he was very effective. In fact Bayern sat back deep because they were scared of his pace which allowed Giroud to sit far higher in the pitch. That was a problem and in fact if Giroud should have scored a second in the first half as batmanu pointed out.

Wenger had options to change it up with Theo when he became ineffective in the second half with Oxlade. And Oxlade did OK and as pointed out, used Jenko very well a couple of times. Oxalde also came into the middle more often to help a tiring Rosicky.

Arsene had no one to replace Giroud with. I haven't heard one commentator in this country who thinks that Giroud had a good game. But he scored. And he was always a threat at set pieces. Kos scored from a set piece so it was important to have an aerial presence for the rest of the game. Thats what he sees in Giroud. Someone who we can launch long balls to. Thats not Arsenal like, but effective against European teams sitting back on their goalkeeper. Thats not enough at the top level and the lay-off he missed to Cazolra was nearly as criminal as Bendtner's lack of ball control at the Camp Nou.

Don't assume that Wenger 'sees' something in Giroud so he subbed Theo instead of him. Thats nonsensical if you look at the game tactically. In fact Wenger was critical of Giroud and Gervinho after the game. Thats never a good sign for players. Wenger never singles out missed chances unless he is mightily annoyed..

The only option we have for Giroud in the squad, ie someone with striking experience is Podolski. And for whatever reason, unknown to me, he does not like him in that role.

Waclott to replace Giroud as CF. Problem solved. Wenger didnt do that. So why?

I didnt say that we have a world class striker in Giroud. So what you are on about?
