I feel sorry for the fans in Spain. As good as La Liga is, the flaws in the structure mean they are all like Arsenal bar Barca and Madrid.

Meaning they keep losing their best players to teams abroad or the big two - hence no competition at the top.

Imagine if Valencia still had Villa, Albiol, Silva and Mata. Or Ateltico had Aguero. They'd make the title race a lot more competitive and entertaining and the fans of the lower clubs would get to see better quality football.

Atletico are a top side, I agree, but they were not exactly a top CL team even when they had Forlan and Aguero.

And if the inevitable happens and Falcao is sold, they'll find it difficult in the CL next season as well.

Fair play to Malaga, they are one of the success stories of the season.

I'm a big fan of La Liga, however, there is more problems for the league than there are in the premier league - Madrid and Barca aside - simply down to money.

A may not be right, but it's the way things are.

Barca are the only Spanish side to win the CL for years. England has had 3 different winners and multiple finalists.

La Liga is a great league but it isn't dominating the CL. Barca are a dominant force, yes, and Madrid have got to two semis but outside of that there is no domination.

Most people are well aware of the problems in the Prem, however, our financial model means we won't be falling away any time soon as a competitive member of the CL.

We haven't covered ourselves in glory the last two seasons, despite Chelsea's flukey win, but we are in a good position for the future due to how our league is ran.

Spain are only allowed four teams in the championship. if two of those are reaching the semis for two years running, not bad. this year they are certainly the dominant force. they have got three teams in the quarters.
