Phal is a very complex curry with lots of ghee and takes longer to cook than vindaloo, which is hot just for the sake of it.
Phal is hotter but more like a stew so absorbs all the spices: it is very difficult to make properly
I'm a man of simple tastes. Korma or Tandoori chicken.
I do still stand with a walloping great sirloin steak, well done with chips and veg as my all time favourite though.....

I like a medium Sirloin, with chips and peas.
Rare for me
But Lamb shanks top the chart
You can't beat a good old roast dinner.
Beef
Roast pots
Yorkshire Puds
Parsnips
Carrots
Cauliflower
Gravy
chicken pathia is my favourite
hot, sweet and sour with a good mix of chili and mango chutney
but a poor roast dinner is about as disappointing as it comes
Xmas Dinner beats a standard roast btw

having grown up in scotland however you cant beat a good plate of scotch pie , chips and beans
Peppered steak with Chips, medium go well done, so theres just a little bit of red in the middle, is beautiful

We have to have Turkey, so I will disagree.
Cold turkey and chicken make great sandwich fillings in white bread but are not much cop as a main course.
